Ordered a few bits on Monday with amazon prime subscription.

I'm new to use amazon, chose next day delivery and its still not here. Tracking says to be delivered 2nd Dec. Does anyone know what courier they use? the amazon tracking doesn't give much information at all.

trying to find out if my package has gone back to sorting office or if its still in transit?

Next door to the delivery address is a amazon drop point in the corner shop but I haven't received any info

If you scroll to the bottom of the amazon page there is a contact us or help somewhere. After you've clicked enough options it'll give you the option to call, email or live chat to them. They'll be able to tell you what's going on. If it says the 2nd I'd have contacted them the day after to be honest. There are delays in delivery right now due to black friday and cyber monday being more popular than they realised.

I ordered Wednesday with next day but it's not due until Saturday.

The one thing I find really dispointing about amazon is the lack of tracking details. Most companies offer decent tracking with at least a time scale. Amazon and UPS offer neither! Makes planning your day very difficult. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have held off going for a poo in case I miss the driver ;)

They use their own delivery service.

A lot of couriers (inc DPD) seem to be snowed under at the moment with delays.

@avrc when you say Amazon and UPS don't offer tracking do you mean delivery windows?

Thankyou waiting for a response :)

The tracking is awful its been at the same point for the last 4 days which is 1mm from being delivered but no information has been updated

I'm good at moaning so I'll see if i can get any credit :)

I'm not with Prime, but for my normal Amazon deliveries seems to vary. Most of the year everything has been delivered by standard Royal Mail service. Since November though everything has come on a dedicated plain (i.e. rental) van, with an Amazon specific driver. Bonus however has been that almost everything I have ordered on Standard Free Delivery (i.e. 3-5 days), has still turned up next day (even stuff from Black Friday was delivered on the Saturday)

I've been having a nightmare with Amazon this week.

Frankly I think the service they offer prime customers is disgusting. I pay a premium for next day delivery, so I expect my parcels to take priority over non-prime customers. I've had three things this week not turn up on their "guaranteed one-day delivery".

If you complain you either get additional free prime or refund.

I find prime is always next day if delivered to one of the collection points (maybe they prioritise as they know it will be received)

Parcel goods usually turn up on time to home but CDs/DVDs normally take 2+ days.

It's worth making a complaint each time the prime delivery doesn't show up next day. They generally add one month onto the end of your prime subscription for each missed delivery so this is worth quite a lot of cash.

Thanks for the tip. I just asked for the £3 credit for no rush delivery which they have given me in gift card form

Yeah, all I ever get is "out for delivery", no indication of time scale. I wish it was like DPD's where they give you an estimated hour slot and even a little map that gets updated so you get an idea if they're on schedule.

I get a regular delivery via UPS and they're the same as amazon. Just an out for delivery message. I registered with UPS thinking it'd give me more info but it doesn't.

It ties your whole day up waiting in for something.

No, you don't pay a premium for next day delivery. You pay a premium for unlimited delivery for free for any number of orders. Other people pay per order for next day delivery.

Prime is you buying next day delivery in bulk, nothing more or less, no different to buying next day delivery one at a time. You are now also paying for other things with prime like music/video streaming.

Guess what, when order volume goes up you get delays, people that don't understand that and instead say it's disgusting should be banned from shopping online. Go to a store during a busy period and compare how long it takes to get served compared to non busy period.

They are snowed under at the min, I just received an email from DPD thanking me for changing my delivery date when I've done no such thing.

Apart from my last order I've been very impressed with delivery. Ordered on Saturdays and had Sunday deliveries and been offered same day delivery too. I've just had a chat with Amazon and they've given me a month extra free, can't argue with that.

Its weird cause when I got my amazon delivery on sunday which shocked me my delivery driver said they had loads of extra staff on but the deliveries were way down on last years black friday and they were delivering no rush, free delivery stuff on a sunday just to fill in time.

Must just be up north where we are all skint ;)

Amazon Logistics aren't. A cd my wife ordered this morning is being delivered tonight.
