Amazon Logistics

Had one the other day tell me it was his first and last day with them, they are "******* ****" apparently lol. Strange way to talk to a complete stranger, even addressed me by my first name, Not seen him since.

Seems to be a self employed ,zero hour job as we have a different driver every time, usually in a budget branded hire van. They hold a digital signing device but am yet to be asked to sign for anything.

Since the change from DPD to Amazons Logisitcs, I have received about 6 or 7 "Sorry we failed to deliver as promised today" emails. If it continues beyond the Xmas rush I will seriously be considering whether to renew my membership.

Problem lies with managment it seems as when we have asked the driver why it wasn't delivered when Amazon emailed to say it would be - their response is defensive and blames Amazon.

Amazon CS says the opposite.

Have to splash out an extra 4.95 for pre 1pm delivery now if you want DPD for it to actually turn up on the day you want :(

Never had any problems with them myself. Although every driver I've had a parcel delivered by is a white van man so they must make extensive use of self employed drivers.

If it's still there on your doorstep when you return, job a good 'un.

If it dissappears, quick call to Amazon for a refund or get another one sent out.

They marked the tracking as handed to LeeUK. Amazon will just say I'm lying and trying to scam a freebie.

When DPD left my parcel last year in a completely random person's bin they didn't exactly do anything about it. I only didn't take it further as the random person turned up with my parcel a few days later.

You all need something like this.

On another note, when I first saw the title I thought it was going to be about packaging.

Today, I had delivered via Prime (Very good. Ordered yesterday 15:00 arrived by 10:00 this morning)

A screwdriver!

Not a box of screwdrivers, not a comprehensive set of Screwdrivers. "Just" a single screwdriver!

It came in a box almost big enough for a PC full Tower case!

ordered a kindle for my mum for christmas.

around an inch of it put through our letterbox, the rest sticking well out. nice and obvious.

Signed for by me apparently.

luckily the delivery only took place an hour before I got home.

very frustrating really.

That's awful, I would have complained about that, did you complain?

Yesterday a colleague had an item delivered from Amazon that was about the size of a PC PSU. It came in a box about big enough to hold a 28" CRT TV!

I've had packets of cable ties, so not even a small fragile thing delivered in a box big enough to hold a couple of laptops and stuffed with packing paper.

They bang on about it all being recyclable but still the amount of packaging they waste is nuts.

riff raff self employed chavvy drivers round our way who get given a van and are expected to deliver 600 parcels per day.

That's nothing. I had 24 MS software licences all ordered together which are only a postcard size of thing and each one came in its own 2 foot long carboard box.

Not kidding you, It was almost a full pallet of boxes!

Amazon's own logistics company. All self employed drivers. Amazon found that the supply of parcel delivery was far below required to meet demand so they decided to do something about it.

I have noticed in the run up to Christmas quite a few white lies in that they say it is with a neighbour, provide a name but then I come home to find it on my doorstep, sometimes covered in water. Lucky Amazon use boxes that could fit 7 of the items you ordered in and so I would need to hose it for the item to get damaged. Probably jinxed myself now!

The Amazon drop box by mine is always full.

Nothing annoys me more than a half arsed delivery. Had the postman sign for my degree parchment on my behalf (checked on website and saw shoddy forgery of my name in the signature box) and stick it through the letter box. I would complain about the fraud* to Royal Mail but seeing as the postie would likely find out the source of the complaint he'd probably either drop a poo through the letter box or my normal mail would start going awry.

Never had any experience with them yet, however I've got a 32" inch monitor being delivered tomorrow presumably by them so lets see it ends.
