Amazon making some items prime only purchases

drop the quotations.... LOL

In 17 years of using Amazon I have never put quotations in their search box...it's much smarter than you think.

I've generally found the search kind of useless compared to other places - I often have to add -keyword to filter down to useful results before I can even use the left hand filter pane options.

Used to be able to use boolean operators (and many sites support complex use of them) to more effectively narrow down even just doing say GTX +970 used to remove a lot of incidental stuff but as from around a year ago it seems only - works and not as well as it used to.

i.e. recently was searching for 500GB SSDs and some searches would throw up tons and tons of 60-120 ones for the first few pages and require a fair bit of messing about before the left hand options were usable to just include actual SSDs and of a select range of capacities (this was a little more complex than just a generic search for a specific size SSD but other sites handled it fine).

I've kind of got used to working around the way it seems to push a load of irrelevant results, probably based on some market trend pattern analysis, for some queries though.
