Amazon Prime Air

Tbh you're right and the sky would have to be full of them for anyone to bother hanging around long enough to get one. How many depots do amazon have though, that things had a 15 mile range, seems like it would need to be orders of magnitude better than that to be useful. You'd have to happen to live next to the depot that happened to have what you wanted, so you might as well pick it up form them.

Well since they are promising 30 min delivery within a 10-15 mile radius and each one only carries one package, one would assume they will have to have lots of drones. You cant just have one and say, sorry its got 20 deliveries to make make and will be 10 hours.

How well do these drones work in bad weather?

I presume not well, specifically in high winds? Does it have to be quite calm, or are they quite robust for a normal British windy day?

It's just a PR Stunt by Amazon, anyone who thinks this is practical or will be practical in the near future is seriously deluded.

first test delivery, and it was in the UK, surprised they chose us with are tight regulations. wish i lived in Cambridge(well out in the sticks, somewhere near cambridge) just for this awesomeness, its coming faster than any of us imagined. They will be rolling out beta testers over the coming months

Looks cool, I'll admit.

I guess it will only work with a limited number of items, however. (Such as the Firestick/small light items). I can't think of many times I've gone "Damn, I need one in less than 1/2 hour".

This is great. My son wants a drone for Christmas so I'll just order some cheap pens and grab the drone when it arrives :D

Very cool. My house backs onto a graveyard. Plenty of delivery space! :D

Handy for dead letter drops.

I take it you will get a message once it delivered or you can track the drone?

I mean guy in video was waiting conveniently by the window :p
