Amazon Prime Gaming Anthology Animation 'Secret Level'

The Sifu, Space Marine, and Armored Core episodes could be epic. As weird as the Concord episode will be, there's also going to be an episode on Exodus which hasn't even had a gameplay reveal yet, let alone release! Still, it has potential given the personnel involved.

I'm not sure I even care about the stories, I've always adored the artistry that the people at Blur are capable of - I genuinely hope this sends them into the stratosphere though. If there's an animation studio that deserved more widespread public recognition, it's blur - and i'd love a season 2 which tells a story around something like mass effect, or crisis, or even left 4 dead or half life.

This still looks awesome to me but it could go either way and be utter crud.
Some of the reviews are saying 'graphically' it's superb, but much of it misses the story-telling requirement. If that's the case then that's a shame as the story was the highlight of many episodes of LDR.

Watched the Unreal Tournament episode this morning as that’s the only game I’m really familiar with.

Not much in the way of story but as above, graphically, it was brilliant, loved the upgrade to the facing worlds map. Disappointed they didn’t use the soundtrack/intro dialogue from the original game. Other than the weapons and ‘headshot’, it didn’t feel nostalgic which I hoped for.

I’ll probably give the other episodes a try at some point.

I thought overall they were solid episodes. Like I said with it being blur, I didn't imagine there would be much in terms of narrative because that's not their wheelhouse historically - but for me, the pac man and warhammer episodes were a highlight in particular. The Dungeons and Dragons one was pretty cool as well.

Watched all of the ones released so far. The links to some of the games is pretty tenuous but I’ll take anything along the lines of LDR.

The 40K, Unreal Tournament, Armoured Core and Sifu ones were probably my favourite.

It's the back story for one of the main teams, led by the former champion Xan Kriegor
All I know, is that it gave me a massive urge to go back and play unreal II. If anything, this series has been a nice nostalgia walk through gaming history - i really hope they comission more episodes, and maybe spend a little of the budget on getting some of the original game narrative teams to write the stories.
