Amazon Prime Gaming Anthology Animation 'Secret Level'

Thought the episodes so far were amazing. My favourite is the Space Marine one followed by the D&D. Animation was superb.

I play video games, but tbh I haven't played or heard of half of these episodes/games! Obviously they can't get the rights for everything, and not everything would make a good story, but still. I guess I will just watch the ones I have played which are only, Unreal Tournament, Mega-Man, Pacman and "Playstation", whatever that means!

I haven't played a lot of the games these are based on, but it didn't stop me enjoying or following them.
Not sure why you'd only watch a select few due to that.

My basic logic is I would not know the world/characters/rules that the episode is based on, and seeing as they are all less than 20 mins long, I thought it vital to know something about it before going in!

I will try the 1st episode, even though i know nothing about D&D.

You'll be fine. I'm in a similar position and it wasn't an issue. Watch them, they're good.
OK, I just watched the D&D one (it was only like 12 mins).

Great CGI/effects, almost photorealistic in parts. The rest not so much. I dunno what a Paladin is, I don't know the powers of the other 3 characters, nor the bad guys. To me its ike they showed me 10 minutes somewhere near the 3rd act of a movie, without showing me the beginning 90 minutes of the film or the final 15 minutes.

I'm sure D&D fans recognised the characters/monsters on screen instantly, but as someone who knows nothing about it all I saw was some great CGI and a fight scene, where I don't even know the motivations for them fighting!

Would that knowledge add to your enjoyment? Sure. But you didn't absolutely need to know all that stuff to follow what was happening.
Honestly, I think you're overthinking it.
Each to their own though. If this stops you from enjoying it, then that's you and it's all good.

Tbh, I had no frikkin idea what was going on in the W40K episode, but I had a great time anyway

ED: Just to clarify, I knew what was happening, but I didn't know what that thing was, or where they were etc.

Just watched the D&D one and that was rubbish. No idea what the third episode was even from but a decent little story.

They need to do the full Horus heresey (exactly as per the books) like the W40k episode.
That's at least a 5 year commitment in itself to put on to screen though if you're willing to do it justice - althought I admit that I'd love to see it happen. I would even probably consider paying for the year up front for that kind of production. lol

Sounds good to me. They’ve committed to years of crap like Rings of Rubbish and Wheel of Time. I’m sure Amazon will find a way to mess it up though.

Watched the first batch yesterday.

Space Marine, give me more of that absolutely loved that episode, Games Workshop need to get them to do a full length feature film.

Pac-Man, really didn't expect that take on the name and it's a something completely different in a good way

Armored Core, Enjoyed it for what it was but I'm not clued up on that franchise enough.
