Why was he headed down to the city anyhow when he knew there were zombies about.. I got the part where he was looking for his wife and child but why look there? In like the worst place possible.

Shame what happened to the horse though.. best transport he could have hoped for. :)

SPOILERS BELOW :

I think he headed there because the other guy had said that they had set up a refugee area in that city which was supposedly safe. Though the big highway leading to it which had no vehicles on the side heading into the city but packed with wrecks on the side heading out of the city should have been a clue.

Mind you, this is a guy who knows that they react to sound but thinks the best thing to do when approaching a house is to shout out "hello, I'm a police officer, is there anyone there?" :D

I didnt really pay much attention to the tank, was it definitely an M1? Wasnt an M60A3 was it? One of these fellas?

Actually, could've been. Whilst he rides past what looks like an M1 on the way in, the tank he ends up in does have a "gater" over the gun mount. I thought it was just a continuity error, but of course it now looks like it was a different tank entirely :)

Excellent. True to the graphic novel. Will be interesting to see how some of the subtle subplots pan out

Quite enjoyed it, a few quibbles aside.

Pacing was spot on I thought. Good make-up and effects. By and large, the cast were fine - "Egg" was good, "Sol" was excellent. Looking forward to the next episode already.

Oh, and kudos to FX for showing it ad break-free!

The tank looked like a British built Chieftain to me. But anyway, military anorak issues aside, I thought it was pretty good, looking forward to seeing how the rest of it unfolds.

I really enjoyed that, I turned the lights off and the volume up and it was the most enjoyable time I've had in front of the TV for a while. Great stuff and the next episode looks like it could be a cracker. :D

It was brilliant, even if the wife is complaining she will now have nightmares about zombies (as she did after I conned her into a romero night).

I really enjoyed it, can't wait for the next episode.

The tank he rides past is the same one he gets in, he doubles back, the gater is just harder to see on the distance shot. It definately isn't an M1, but I think that it is suposed to be one considering the series looks like it is set in the present. My guess its an Chieftain tank (M60 is too small and the wrong design to make a realistic M1 stand in) that the prop department did their best to make look like an M1, you have to remember this is Tv so the budget for hiring a proper M1 prop would likely be out of their grasp.

It could also be that they needed the escape hatch for the series of events they wanted in the scene, which the Chieftain has but the M1 doesn't.

Unless of course it wasnt actually supposed to be an M1, could be that it was indeed an M60 and was supposed to be an M60. Although they arent still used generally by the standard US military, they are still used by the national guard in some states, could be that it was a national guard unit rather than regular military.

It's possibly an older chieftain/m60 used by the national guard considering the setting, i suspect a lot of semi retired hardware would have been dug out.

he was going to Atlanta because the new neighbour said they had most likely gone to the refuge centre there.

I'm holding off watching this so I can have a day long zombie fest watching all the episodes. Does anyone know if the UK airing had extra scenes compared to the US one?

I was fuming last night as we forgot it was on, managed to get the repeat on fx+1 set to record on the sky+. Hopefully we can sit down and watch it later tonight!

poor bloody horse ..... for some reason i dont mind seeing people getting ripped to bits in movies but i hate seeing animals hurt

the make up on the crawling zombie that went across the park was amazing

Watched it last night thought it was good though would have liked it more if it was a different actor than egg
