AMD 14.4 drivers, still underclocking...

I started the game on the first level from the beginning. It was the first inside event when you cloak. The clock speed is quite sporadic.

I just used RadeonPro on Tomb Raider with everything at maximum graphical settings and it held a solid 1100mhz and 60fps when playing for around 15 minutes. I don't know if it's a bug with Crysis 3, or maybe I am hampered by my CPU as mentioned by Marine. But I don't recall this being an issue on pre 14.* drivers.

lol, i wish i'd of known that before :D i just recoded myself in the rain outside and stopped when getting inside.

I don't get any downclocking outside, nor inside that i remember, i'm uploading the outside one to youtube now. will take about 45 minuts. i will do it again late today for inside.

Inside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1dU2_0K--w&feature=youtu.be

Cache at 1080P again. i did notice something, there is random freezes on this level, everytime it does it i see the HDD going, so its caused be some sort of Drive Accessing.
It doesn't happen latter on, it might still be loading in crap.

If you could record i would be interested to see a recording of your problem, i might be able to tell what it is.

i've been there too xD
this is what i did and now i dont see any big fluctuation, well not exactly what i would like but still better
clean install 14.4, uninstall 14.4 not using ddu or other software, install 13.12 then install 14.3 over it and finally install 14.4 w/o uninstalling the old drivers

i know that dont make any sense but it did work for me and now playing crysis 3 stay at 1040-1020 core clock usin powertune 50%
cpu fx 9370 5.0 ghz

This is going to sound really weird, but it is perfect when recording through msi afterburner. It isn't until I stop recording that the core clock becomes a little 'unstable'... Recording, it will hold the desired clock exactly to the digit. It's certainly better than it was without RadeonPro, but it still wanders off the desired clock speed when not recording. I have tried several times to capture it, but as soon as I start recording it becomes perfect.

Thats interesting, if you set it up like my Screenshot (using the AMD H264 App) its using the GPU to encode on the fly, so its putting stress on the GPU.

For what ever reason while not recording perhaps the GPU feels there isn't enough stress on it to keep clocked up.

what settings do you use? and ask a silly question, are you sure vSync is off?

vSync is off, I run it on high... I used the AMD H264 App to record. Maybe it is a CPU bottleneck. Other games seem fine, that's the strange thing, well since using RadeonPro they have anyway. It holding very close to the desired clock speed now tbh, enough to not worry about really

Ok, on lower settings i managed to get it to downclock.

The CPU does not appear stressed according to the readouts in MSI AB OSD, but there is some bottlenecking going on as the GPU never got to its usual 97+ %, in the readout occationally jumping to 100% before dropping the clocks right down, and it was slow to warm up, this is normal as MSI AB seems slow in detecting when the GPU is switching between different power states.

If you're problem is what i think it is, CPU power, i wouldn't worry about it, its normal.
