AMD 7 series latest spec info from AMD round up and discussion

Can't wait as we should finally see the 6 series come down in price as at the moment they seem to me to be priced a bit high for year old technology. Then I can look forward to some 6950 CF goodness.

I don't know why Farooq is saying this is "confirmed" info from TSMC and AMD, unless theres a new article I haven't seen as of today, then AMD have confirmed nothing on specs, on production, on dates, process, neither has TSMC.

The information I used was from AMD themselves from the fusion developer summit, here is a link I can see why you thought it was all from nordic I only used them to post diagram slides.

http://developer.amd.com/afds/pages/keynote.aspx#/Dev_AFDS_Reb_1 link to video from AMD

That is keynotes but a number of interesting videos can be found on that site. Around the 30 min mark they go into specifics on the gpu compute if you want to skip some stuff

Thats not the issue, you said confirmed by AMD and TSMC and made no distinction between which information was and wasn't confirmed, as in, the architecture was talked about publically months ago with multiple threads on it here and elsewhere, articles on Anandtech, but you posted a thread say "confirmed info" and listed specs, which are NOT confirmed, memory type, which is NOT confirmed, dates, capacity, etc, etc which is all not confirmed.

Almost everything in your post is rumour, yet you say below is a list of bits of info confirmed by AMD.

Sorry thats misleading and ENTIRELY incorrect, only 2 slides you talk about are confirmed info, even which products the GCN architecture in is unknown, top end, certainly, below that, people are guessing based on last generation it might only come at the top end, and a lot of that has come from the assumption that the low and mid end needs architecture compatibility to do xfire with Trinity, and as far as current info allows, that is also incorrect.

I think there's a bit of an assumption that these will be 79xx cards in December, can see this being the same as last time, 68xx cards out first, then the 69xx cards a couple of months later.

@drunkenmaster

Sorry you feel that way mate I was just bringing all the info we have on these cards together for everyone in a single thread. I think that I made it quite clear that this is what we know now and its all subject to change read the orignal post thats why I even went to the point of dating it in the text.

That being said you bring up some very valid points in regard to my posting and use of the word confirmed and ill try to be clearer in future threads what is from which source. However its not a dissertation for uni with a sources list. Its just a forum post;) thank god hated having to do those back in the day.
I dont usually post here on the ocuk forums and I see you have a lot of posts and a high don rating thingy (how that work anyhow?) but ill take the advice onboard it was not my intention to misdirect any information. What I posted above is what we know so far. Take care mate you seam knowledgeable and you pick up on points others dont and advanced technical details good having forums with chaps like you around im sure will have some good geek banter. laters keep the questions and info coming

I can totally see a 7850 Cross Fire build coming my way early December if the rumoured release dates are correct. I am just ****ed off they didn't keep making processors for the x58 chipset. my 920 @ 3.8 shouldn't present any bottleneck yet but I can see it showing its age in a year or 2.

Has this been posted....?...Looks good for production!

http://www.techspot.com/news/46013-tsmc-28nm-hits-mass-production-gtx-560-ti-refresh-coming.html

"TSMC announced this week that it has commenced volume production of 28nm silicon and the first wafers have already been shipped to customers. TSMC's 28nm process comes in several variants: High Performance (28HP), 28nm High Performance Low Power (28HPL), 28nm Low Power (28LP), and 28nm High Performance Mobile Computing (28HPM). The first three are in volume production while the last will reach that stage by the end of 2011, though most notebook makers have a production build of 28HPM for design purposes. TSMC noted that the 28nm rollout is a bigger deal than 2008's"

That sounds like good news to me, if this is indeed true I hope we might see some small numbers of GPUs in December, even if we cant buy any at least it might give an indication of performance.

Yup, saw that a couple of days ago. But the news of a new 560Ti revision is the first I've heard of it, and from the sounds of things it sounds pointless... Reminds me of the time when the 250 core was slapped onto a 9800... then a 8800...
