AMD 7 series latest spec info from AMD round up and discussion

I think I'm going to have to wait for Nvidias next gen though ... I've kind of gotten used to Physx in a few games too much :(

Nope, they really aren't that great at 1440P. At 1080P they rocked though. :)

Taking the mick right?!

I have a single GTX 470 and I've not had a problem with any games.
Rage, Witcher 2, Civ 5, TF2, Space Marine,BF BC2, DOW2, Metro 2033, Starcraft 2 and Deus Ex HR and many others all play fine at high settings.

I keep AA at x4 and I usually turn Tesselation off, and Ubersampling in W2 case.

The only way they can't keep up at 1440 is if you literally max everything possible, including AA, Tesselation and Ubersampling.

Use hacked drivers to use your current card for PhysX? ;)

I would want to sell both my GTX 560 tis to afford the upgrade though. I always want 2 cards.

2 Nvidia cards = SLI or Single GPU + powerful Physx, its too nice now that I started playing Alice Madness Returns.

Supposedly entered production for a Q1 release.

Read the REAL news from TSMC as reported by REAL sites, then read the utter tripe from Softpedia, believe nothing they say, literally nothing.

The TSMC release specifically stated FINISH wafers HAVE SHIPPED to AMD and Nvidia(of which cards they didn't say and wouldn't). Yet Softpedia insists its a Q1 launch because "they entered volume production this week". This is how god damned retarded Softpedia is, from a press release, which stated finished wafers have shipped, which take roughly 6 weeks to make, and with no mention of how long they've been shipping, they manage to state volume production started this week.

They have literally no clue what's going on and really shouldn't be linked here as every single story they've run lately has been wrong.

I'm leaping not just one gen, it's two. From 4850 to a high end 7xxx series.

Plus I want to get that 27" Hazro, it's going to be suuuhweet.

Just some careful saving up now. :p

But you have tessellation turned off and only 4x AA.

Yes, I didn't notice any difference with more AA and Tesslation was the same for Metro.

Do you only consider a game playable if literally every setting possible is maxed with 60FPS?

Such as the ones I listed for metro? I don't understand that, since you'll not notice that tiny difference in appearance while gaming, but it will run terribly.

While with x4 AA you eliminate most of the jaggies, and at 2560x1440 they're already quite reduced thanks to the increase in resolution compared to 1920x1080.

The person I quoted originally also didn't state if he maxed every single little thing or force on More AA if it wasn't available ingame. As such I'll assume he runs at High/Ultra normal settings, even those don't add x32 AA.

In that case SLI GTX 470's should still easily run the games current available, specially since most are console ports.

I might get a 7950 or two in January. They're looking darn good. However, I'd like to see some games announced that actually need the power these things will bring to the market.
