AMD 7990

Right.
Dunno what mods you've done, but I can see a 7990 getting pretty toasty in there.
Front restriction looks pretty immense and no top exhaust or side fan capability...

Not sure how much improvement a slightly better set of fans would make tbh.

cant get 7990 started, pc wont recognise card....pc will only start via onboard graphics..... the card is in there now , but it's disconnected

when it was connected black screen only...but the fans were spinning

7970 used to do the same too, it's an asus p8z77, I need help real quick thanks

do I download the drivers

According to some posts lately matt you absolutely do not need all that wattage, especially on single GPU. ;)

for a single gpu; too right, you dont. However the 7990 is a dual gpu card and whilst 750w should be fine if you arent battering the cpu ('normal' power consumption figures put it in at around 5-600 watts), I'm not sure I'd trust an entry level corsair to do the job either way.

Mal, you're not having much luck! when my pc wouldnt post, it turned out the be the psu. chances of you having two duff psu's in a row are, even for corsair, pretty slim.. tried all the obvious? different slot, reset bios, latest bios on there, boot with bare-bones connected etc? drivers arent going to make any difference to it posting, unfortunately. if it did the same with the 7970 then figure's pointing at the board.

Matt you hath violated all areas with the audacity to own a 7990 then go a notch further and buy TWO Hawaii GPU's; then get a third! :D

You try not to sail to close to the wind when you are using an archaic Saab diesel engine like the FX with a 7990! ;)

Obviously troll is obviously, still thought i'd point out "better" and higher wattage are not the same. As for wattage, no, you don't need a lot for single GPU, even less if you're not planning on overclocking.

MY overclocked 780ti and 4790k peaked 620w, avg 570w. <--- 1.3v through the GPU.
My overclocked 290 and 4790k peaked 550w, avg 530w. <---1.41v through the GPU

That's wattage at the wall, so neither was really breaking a sweat on my 500w PSU.

I would appreciate more help please, i'm pretty stressed out right now

motherboard is giving me one red light at start up, it's lasting about 3 seconds

7970 isn't working either...fans ok, i moved to different plug on PSU, the same, PSU is ok because fans still spinning.....cards not working on the other slot either

i think its a bios issue with motherboard.....i also could not install amd catalyst, installation failed !!!

it's very hard to post in.... dreadful spam on pages/ passwords not remembered/ website downloads interupted by adverts

pc will go to shop tomorrow, i cant handle all of this right now

Is there no LED guide in the motherboard book for troubleshooting?

Mixing Matt and red light in the same page is a bad idea. :p
