**AMD 9950X3D Owners Club**

9950X3D is great for ITX. Did a quick and dirty PB0 -20 CO.

To get the same CB23 score: 227W vs 501W compared to my old KS.

Obviously a better binned KS would use less power, but still impressive.

how do you get that screen to open? I have latest BenchMate installed it 5 times, revouninstall etc... but that summery window never opens for me :( there are no direct settings either confused noob :)

My data atm when runt one Cinebench 2024
PBO +200, x10,
CO Shaper, -10, -30, -30 -20 -10
Water-cooling loop,
G-skill 6000, cl26 (no oc on mem)

Here is the result I got. Before I started the run.
The min, and after the Max

I have hard to understand what idle is.
There is this one CPU (Tctl/Tdie) min 47.8 max 73.0

But also
CPU min 36.0 (around 33-35)) max 62.0

| Component | Min (°C) | Max (°C) |

|----------------------|---------|---------|

| CPU (Tctl/Tdie) | 47.8 | 73.0 |

| CPU Die (average) | 45.2 | 71.7 |

| CPU CCD1 (Tdie) | 37.0 | 74.1 |

| CPU CCD2 (Tdie) | 42.2 | 73.8 |

| Core Temperatures | 31.1 | 71.0 |

| L3 Temperatures | 32.8 | 50.7 |

| CPU IOD Hotspot | 45.0 | 52.2 |

| CPU IOD Average | 38.7 | 42.8 |

| Motherboard | 37.0 | 38.0 |

| CPU Package | 47.0 | 73.0 |

| CPU | 36.0 | 62.0 |

| Temp9 | 26.0 | 26.0 |

| T_Sensor | 26.0 | 26.0 |

When people are talking about idle temp what sensor? there are so many :)
OCCT seams to show
| CPU Die (average) | 45.2 | 71.7 |
Armory Create the one just called CPU (| CPU | 36.0 | 62.0 |)

I have watercooling, 3 radiators with 120 fans. Run at 1100Rpm, waterpump at 50%, its in the same loop as my GPU.
I have 3 because its a special case :D Water temp around 27c, Ambient in the room 21c

I tried the Gelid GC-5 paste, not sure if it's crap or if my temps are really good, bad or just decent? :D

Quick question..
What are the idleing temps for people?

My 9950X3D is idling at 50-60c and 70-75 under load.
Replaced the thermal paste twice and always stays around the same.
The chip isn't showing any signs of being faulty but never had a CPU idle at such high temps - My 9950X idled at 30-35c

Which reading are you looking at on this (presumably HWINFO?), since as the poster above says there are numerous cpu temp sensors in that program. When I said mine idles at 51c I was referring to the cpu package reading, although the CPU reading below that indicates 42c idle, which also corresponds with the figure given in Aida64.

Additionally I have run Asus bios cooler training again and the cpu fans are much quieter now thankfully, and it's knocked a few degrees off temps

I was running some tests with the 9950X3D on lower PPT with R23. I also looked at the Power Plan for Balanced on Power Save
I ran 3 tests for balanced and 1 test for power save. I picked out the best one for balanced.

CS -30 for Lower Power, Bottom Slot. CO -35, -35.

R23
105 watts, Balanced 35,097, Power Save 35,394, Max Temp 45'c
115 Watts, Balanced 36,456, Power Save 36,748, Max Temp 48'c
125 Watts, Balanced 38,055, Power Save 38,061, Max Temp 51'c
135 Watts, Balanced 39,465, Power Save 39,680, Max Temp 54'c
145 Watts, Balanced 40,508, Power Save 40,776, Max Temp 59'c

I expected the Power Saver to be lower but it was consistently higher, not by much on every test but it was higher.

Its interesting that in Power Save I do see Core Parking in Resource Monitor and the driver looks like its trying to use the minimal amount of cores for general use. In balanced I never see Core Parking with Resource Monitor but I do see it using the right CCD for the right applications. This is on a fresh install of Windows 11. Power Save also shows a lower idle power. With 135 Watts PPT I was seeing a minimum about 74 watts for the entire PC, average about 103 watts while browsing. Using a Corsair HX1000i which can give you these stats.

Make sure you use thread lasso guys for max performance

Lasso still delivers 10% higher game performance compared to AMD's latest software for the 9950x3d

Use Lasso but don't bother with manual assignment for each games, that makes no sense. Some games do benefit from using more than 8 cores. By assigning only to the Cache CCD you are lowering performances. Several city/factory builders will want all 16 cores (like Satisfactory). Then you have games like Yakuza/Like a Dragon which are showing better performance with 16 cores than just using the X3D cores.

I use Process Lasso also and I would recommend it, but there's absolutely no need to set anything manually for games, at least with games I have tried so far, Lasso knows already what to prioritize and where. That's the whole point of the app, it got some database/intelligence built-in and will assign processes at the right place. It might not always work for some obscure games, but manual settings should be the exception.

Just compared your figures to mine. Both sets of minimums are pretty much the same, however all of your maximums are about 8-10 degrees lower than mine, although you're using water loop and I'm using a £30 Phantom Spirit.

I change to grizzly from Gelid after those numbers this morning, and get around 3-4c better that the result you see now.

I have slow speed on the fans and cooling the gpu in the same loop too. Not sure if it's possible without liquid metal to cool it more. If I set all fans too 100% I get maybe 1-2c extra. But for a short while till the water get higher temp.
My case is also an open case so I have no other air flows running through the parts either.

It seams to be normal to have idle temp between 40-50(55)c with any cooler. I guess the 3d cache is one of the reasons even a 9800x3d was kind of hot in relation to non 3d, at least for me

Anyone having USB problems with this chip? Since upgrade, my wireless dongles cut out sometimes or have problems connecting to peripherals

I did with PBO on. My Audeze headset just turn on and off, and on and off. Disbled all OC then it worked. So I reinstalled the drivers etc but it didnt fix it. It just randomly happened for me. Try turn ogf PBO if on snd see if it works for you. I reinstalled windows :/ then it worked with OC again. The annoying part is that it just happen when PBO was on, I could not fix the problem.beside install win 11. PBO etc is on now and all works fine. Nor sure if the OC can breake any files, drivers etc... if it happens again I will give it more time to see if I can fix it without reinstall everything

How's everyone getting on with UCLK + FCLK?

Got a lot of testing to do but looks like UCLK 3200 FCLK 2166 will work. vSOC at 1.26 currently, lowering until stable but the gigabyte x870e doesn't like clearing cmos and it's taking 10+ minutes every time i hit a non-POST setting

EDIT : Trying to reduce vSOC, 1.2v and below it throws immediate errors in TM5. Not sure if 1.22v is good for the chip long term, might be better settling for 6200mt's instead of 6400

Have you tried CoreCycler?
Thanks! Will be giving this a shot this week.
Going to take a while, but worth it IMO if a few cores are holding back the rest.

Not looking for anything super aggressive, but for work I often run 2+ hour builds, anything I can do to keep AVG clocks high helps

So idle temps are still incredibly high but now found reports that a few people are having issues with the 9950X3D.
Mine idles at 60-70c and then anything in the 80s in games with for some reason FM24 sometimes pushing it to 90c and all system fans going into overdrive.

Re-installing the chipset drivers apparently sometimes fixes this issue so might give that a try - Have now tried this and did nothing.
It might not be my chip itself but more of a BIOS or chipset driver issue - My MB is the ASUS X870E ROG Crosshair Hero.

Edit:
Done with the processor - Have now started an RMA with OCUK and hopefully can get a replacement soon.
It is idleling hotter than what is should be under load.
