Hey

Downloaded the Game, went to play it... Unplayable.

Why? Because only one cards works.

Seems there is NO Crossfire on this game too. Why is every new game that has come recently been without xfire support?

Scaling isn't great on nVidia either in SLI by the sounds of it, still inexcusable to not have day one drivers for massive titles though.

I don't think I'll ever go multi GPU again unless something is done about the issues it's had for years.

Better than nothing though Ayahuasca.

AMD doesn't infuse any confidence in release day acceptable performance anymore, the fact they have little to zero AAA sponsorship just makes it worse with the amount Nv have in comparison.:(

If they want to hold on to the little audience they have left, they are going to have to pay up like Nv do.

Personally I am waiting a while to see what happens with mGPU before going xfire/SLI again. Prolly end of this year / beginning of 2017 when I will re-evaluate.

If AMD want all this hot air that they blow to be taken seriously then they have to get the simple things done first and done right. Day one drivers is a must and undermines their credibility.

What, it's better to release a day one driver that crashes machines as I have read in the Nvidia Drivers threads? I sometimes can't believe the hypocracy in here. Nvidia users bleating on about their fantastic drivers when over in the Nvidia drivers forum they are screaming at how bad the last set of drivers were and the issues they have caused. It's not like we can't go over there and read it ourselves , you know.

I agree with the sentiment and would like day one drivers to be completely error free myself, however as I said above day one drivers are great....if they work correctly. Looking at the Nvidia forum it's clear they are not bug free.

Yep, this could have been a great opportunity for them, with talk of DX12 and async before release.

These things need to be worked on a while before release. In this day and age with all the advertising and how much they push Multi GPU when they show off new cards they should be working with the game companies long before release to have working drivers.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but being a Crossfire user for many years now it puts me off more and more with every big game that gets released.

For the first time in a long time im thinking about only going for a high end single card for my next upgrade as then i don't have the annoyance of there never being profiles out on time. At 3440x1440 i need both cards working as i paid for 2 so i can run that res at the highest settings.

My next card will be a single GPU.

the single 290x is actually running the game ok, 30-40FPS, no drops below 30 and no screen tearing at all. So smooth as butter.

Oh and this is on 4K!

It's probably a case that AMD have thought to them selves, "We don't have the resources to fight on all fronts, how can we maximise what we got? With DX12 supposedly changing how multi GPU is going to work, we can focus on other areas of our drivers or hardware and only do the xfire stuff in its current manifestation to the minimum acceptable degree."

HOWEVER, this sort of design philosophy will happen again in the future in other scenarios.

They've done it already with the FX chips. They decided to go multicore years ago, way in advance of the market being ready. In fact, we still aren't ready years later, but we are on the cusp now of the DX12 era.

But in the mean time, people look at the Fx chips and think, meh not even i5 performance. (games)

Your first line sums up my last post brilliantly. Scalling isnt great on Nvidia either in SLI - even though you are running the "Super, Smashing, Great" Day One driver....Well what a lot of good that has done you.

Then you still get the dig into AMD for not having a day one driver.....LOL :p

Would all Nvidia fans stop their whinging if AMD get a driver out for day one (even though it may make things crash and burn?), of course they would...as it would provide another stick to bash AMD with.

Hypocracy is the name of the game on these forums unfortunately. :(

Minimum? Cannot get anymore minimum if it doesn't even work.

Not good enough. Should be ready for release day.

So you kick your toys out of your cot about not having day one release drivers then go on to say your 4 year old card is actually running the game smooth all on it's own. Now that does say something about AMD engineering and the longevity of their products....you wont get that from team green kepler users and it will be the same with maxwell users a few years from now. ;)

Blimey, with customers like you AMD don't need Nvidia users to be bashing them at all. Some people ought to be lucky they can afford more than one card.
