AMD AM2 6000

are you sure 129inc. vat? that is a bit low??

160-170 is more reasonalbe.

if they drop to 129 then i will buy two.

Yeah that was meant to be £139 sorry, I am pretty sure that this will be the correct price, not neccessarily from OCUK mind you.

Official price cuts are almost $100 off the Intel price sheets, Since they are currently £185 give or take a couple of quid, then £139 is not that far of a stretch, maybe even £135.

i hope you are right, but i got a feeling that 160-170 price bracket is more correct.

I'm confused

Intel are officially reducing the price on 1000 units to $226 per CPU from $318 and the current U.K. price is already almost as low as you are saying, they need the E6600 to be well below the AMD X2 6000+ to keep up the heat on AMD. Since the AMD is around £160 now I hardly see the point in reducing a mid-range CPU by such a small amount especially since this is the worst time of year to sell computer products the extra % reduction can spark some much needed sales that would otherwise happen around the Q3 back to school period when Intel will move into 6th gear for the season, with massive price cuts across the board, and the introduction of new products.

Just found these processors for 160 inc vat brand new , what are these processors like as i have always liked the way amds boot quickly and are good overclockers. I no c2d is probably better so i am asking people with c2d to let me choose my processor with out trashing my thread ;) I want to stay with amd to keep the competition on

It will be an excellent CPU and scream through anything you throw at it for the foreseeable future. Hell, I've got the baby X2 3800 and it just eats everything I throw at it. Buy with confidence.

I'm getting sick of all this gushing about C2D's. It's not like they make you coffee and give you a back rub while you play. We all know they're faster on paper - so I wish people would stop acting like they're stopping people "wasting their money", when that person is obviously aware of the difference in the first place. Honestly, the way some of you talk you'd think an X2 is the same speed as a Duron or something
