Project Zero looks nice, but I wouldnt buy non-e chipset - one of AM5 selling points is longetivity, so why are they restricting pcie 5 for gpu, if we will have pcie 5 gpus in a year?

I saw the MSI X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI on sale as from December, I'll add it to the original post anyway. Seems to be around £40 cheaper than the MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI.

Gigabyte B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE being released soon. Also an X670E AORUS PRO X, although no additional info on that. Added both to the original post.

Also info at TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/317484/...-support-for-amd-ryzen-8000-series-processors

Gigabyte had announced previously, back in October 2023, the upcoming release of the B650 AORUS ELITE AX ICE and Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE, these now seem to have hit retail inventory in the UK recently.

Biostar announced the following motherboards for release between April and November last year, although I doubt we will see these on sale in the UK.

That MSI B650 Project Zero looks great. mATX with Wifi 6e and BT5.3 with no visible connectors and which are routed better through the back of the system? Yes, please.

I still want Thunderbolt on an AMD system though.

Don't care about PCi-e gen 5.

Looks like Asus may do away with even them wires :)

Its a good idea, but then you loose the ability to vertically mount the GPU as there are no 8 pin power connectors on the GPU and you have to buy ASUS parts, if you brought maybe an ASUS GPU and a Gigabyte motherboard, that extra power connector may fowl on a chipset heatsink or some other component.

I looked at the steel legend but only two sata ports was a no no for me as i regularly use four sata drives. Got it down to the MSI b650 edge and the rog strix 650e-f board which one is on sale when I have the cash I'll likely buy.

The new B650 steel legend Wi-Fi, the non -E version has 4 SATA ports now. But obviously it’s just B650 now and not -E
