AMD Announces DirectX 12 Game Engine Developer Partnerships

One has to ask why they've not chosen the Vulkan route, Saying that because a few of their other total war games have come across to linux/steamos

my guess would be total rewrite of the engine to use Vulkan. Where DX 12 can be plugged in for now.

Now when first true full dx 12 games start dropping; we then can go why not Vulkan as both aren't just plugged in but written from the ground up.

It would be a rewrite for either, However Croteam managed it with the talos principle all be it a wrapper of sorts.

Guess it depends on when they started it, going on what other devs/studios have said having done one it's next to nothing to implement the other.
