In acme's chair.
Where on earth did this spring up from? I haven't heard any rumours or speculation about these chips at all.

For the price, the specifications seem very decent. Will look up benchmarks in a few minutes.

And the 740

I must admit I am a little confused as to why these chips exist, there is such a bounty of quad core AMD chips available. Right now you could go to the OcUK store and buy a new Athlon X4, a Trinity A8, a Trinity A10, a LLano A6, a LLano A8, a Bulldozer FX-4, a Piledriver FX-4 or a Phenom II x4... If i'm honest, I couldn't even tell you which chips outbench which anymore.

I have to agree there are so many AMD chips.

OCUK have made a mistake in the description of this chip though.
It doesn't have a GPU built in.

So it is FM2 without the onboard GPU, and an unlocked multi.

Could it be production issues on the A10? It does have the same 4 mb cache... which is one of the major bottlenecks in it's performance as far as I can tell. It does seem a bit odd when you could get a quad core piledriver for not a lot more which would be far more capable.

lol. im getting 130fps in wow with my 8320 and that was when its at stock.

after 120fps it doesn't matter anyway as my 120hz monitor wont make any difference.

Actually after 60fps it doesn't matter in WoW, that's what its designed for, any higher and you start running into graphical anomalies (i.e the foggy island north of Icecrown).

Even then, can't help but think you'd be shooting yourself in the foot to buy it, upgrade path, you couldn't simply slot in an octo core, you'd be limited to an SR APU, or hope they make an SR Athlon like this.

Think I'd just get a Phenom II :p
