AMD Black Edition now available for pre-order at OcUK!!

Your right but it is still handy for comparing chips within the same product line, also if you are aware of what the clock speeds "translate" into on the other product line it can be a good yard stick.

Well there we go. Had no idea that this was coming out, hey Im very behind the times now. Last time I took notice the Conroe's were king. Everyone had E6700 and QX6800 :p

So is this the top AMD cpu you can get? For under £165 is a bit of a bargin :p

How are they not doing too bad. Fact they are still used or nasty shops are making so called high end system and flogging them?

Yeah thats true but is only true due to the mass market Intel has and the fact AMD lost out big time by trying to take over. The buying of ATI was a mistake, look at it! GFX was not and still aint whats it's said to be!

C2d wins end of, its in more homes and laptops, it's used more day to day, its cheaper, faster at stock, and much nicer!

Overclocking a C2d is a gift as it goes some and more than AMD.

Only die hard AMD fans will stick with it.

Fair play for the atempet with the box.

Oh and this forum needs multi quote rapidly

Edit, look Azza's posts, The 64 has 2 x 1mb catch !!!

what on earth, C2D and X2s are virtually identical in terms of price/performance, so saying that C2D is cheaper and faster at stock is a bit flaud considering you can get an X2 for the same money that does the exact same job UNLESS you overclock, as said before, so its not end of really in the real world, C2D only makes sense if you overclock, if not then it makes no difference which you pick
