No the FX is more likely to drop frames with any GPU compared with the same GPU with an I5.

Doesnt matter what card you have,In a lot of games an FX will have dips,where as an Intel with the same gpu would not.

With FX cpu's you become CPU bound far quicker than you do with Intel CPU's.

Most modern games only utilize 2-4 threads/cores. On a core vs Core basis, Intels CPU's are far faster than amd.For gaming you want 4 powerful cores/threads.

Absolutely.

With the 290 yea you can have slightly higher Graphics settings,but your still far more likely to experience random frame drops,or sluggishness sometimes.
