a 40% increase for that setup in Minfps is simply mindboggling.

I know, it doesn't seem right. I will run it again to double check. :)

I did a couple of runs on the 12.9 and the minimum did go as high as 57 from memory but this particular run brought a low minimum.

Nope its correct, lowest fps recorded when that car explodes in the mission and you're looking dead at it.

These drivers have bought more performance than most GPU Refresh.

I saw on some review that the 7970GHz edition is now 48% faster than a 580 at 1600P with these drivers, so seems like a decent jump this generation after all :)

Im surprised that this performance increase wasnt saved for the 8xxx refresh to be honest.

Mainly in FrostBite 2 engine games though because AMD performance was so bad there, nice to see they fixed it though.

They finally got to work with the devs and the engine code (frostbite2-devs danger close), something only Nvidia had access to with bf3 and dice, hence all the dice producers saying to get the best possible experience go nvidia and to play full ultra you need 2x580's. I remember it well as i looked on with my paltry dual 6950's. :D

Considering that is the kind of scenario that AMD have to contend with, I reckon they do a stellar job. Clock for clock there was very little in it, now with access to the right information too they're well ahead. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise given the hardware specs.

Oh to have had these drivers when the 680 was released and the NVidia brigade were trashing as fools anyone who had bought a 7970 :)

I think its always been pretty even, (apart from price :p) some amd won, some nvidia won.

Maybe now its in amd's favour, but this might be a blessing in disguise for nvidia users as they might actually start dropping prices now. :)

Don't hold year breath, maybe $10 - $20, Nvidia have a massive fan base. its a bit like Apple.
People will que outside the door overnight to buy them at any price.
The only reason Nvidia will drop the price is if they start to loose significant market share to AMD, for that to happen Nvidia have to become uncool and AMD the new cool.

Anyway, i added 3DMark11 and Heaven. will add a couple of games later.
