Hi Thont,
Just wanted to let you know I've included this bug/issue (and Humbug's) in a report I'm preparing for my team, and plan on sending it by the end of this week.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. Hello MrMarvelous,
It's totally up to you (please keep in mind it's a Beta driver). That being said, lots of gamers who have been playing BF4 have seen great performance gains; but since you're not playing the game, you could wait till next month when we release the WHQL driver.
I'm sure members here can provide you their thoughts/recommendations as well - there are a lot of experts here

if WHQL got Power Play bug i will be really ****ed off,,, I had email from AMD CS last Friday to give them more specific details about that driver bug. I wrote down two a4 pages back to them.
Now i am waiting to see if i wasted my time on that...
@Warsaw,
Thanks for Mantle, fantastic performance running BF4 and Thief.
My only problem running Mantle though is no AB osd, yes, you can show the BF4 overlay, but I still really need my AB OSD to monitor other parts of my build.
Now that Radeon Pro is in limbo with John joining Raptr, is there any chance at all, AMD can get in contact with unwinder/riva tuner and get some support for AMD users running Mantle, before the SDK is released, that is 6 months away?
Thief has no way to monitor anything, gpu/cpu temps/clocks, we aren't console gamers, we want to see what performance we have conjured up in our rigs, that's part of what makes us PC gamers.
Yeah I agree we need support for mantle monitoring. Would be great if japamd from radeonpro added his work to raptr.
+ Infinity.
I use over 1gb more on Mantle as i do vs DX11. As i say sounds like hes exceeding the vram limit. Stick this into the console and note the vram usage when the spikes start. If its anywhere near 2000mb you know the reason why.
Render.DrawScreenInfo 1
I get the same hitching on bf4 with mantle, flying along at 90fps then an explosion sends it into a slide show, in close firefights can result in the same thing. How something can go from a super smooth 90fps to about 2 frames every other second is slightly confusing to say the least. Isn't the 7990 meant to be a true 6 gig card with mantle? Can't see 5760x1080 with no aa passing that limit.
Sounds like you're exceeding the vram limit. Type Render.DrawScreenInfo 1 into the console while playing and monitor the vram usage. If it exceeds 3072mb according the counter on screen when the hitching starts then you know the reason.
Anyone benched this driver on heaven?? Efficient???
Even on a 7990? Wasn't part of the hype about mantle that it used vram differently and a 7990 was a true 6 gig card and not mirrored 3 gigs?

use the asus bios that removes powerplay
I've given you the know how, you need to find out if it is or not.
What you mention is one of the 'possible' methods but its not implemented yet afaik.
