AMD confirm RX 7900 vapour chamber problems

Nothing wrong with the GPUs, but they probably should stop making their own cards/cooling solution and let AIB partners handle it instead...

The vapor chamber was made by a third party, the rdna 2 gpu's were praised for being solid and having a good cooler. So why should they stop making their own cards due to an error by a vendor? Mistakes happen.

Were the RDNA2 coolers good? They were certainly better than old blower coolers. But still worse than AIB cards.

I don't know if anyone did a good fixed dBA and clocks comparison?

Yup, basically the same design as the new cards.

Just revisited some reviews. The RDNA2 coolers did better than I remember.

Seems like the 6800 didn't get a very good cooler. The 6800XT did get a decent one.

These two have the FE cooler as a comparison as well.

Interesting looking at the 7900XTX. The review below has lines for a few different 7900XTX cards.

My mate got his replacement today and it appears to be fine. The Junction temp sits around 80oc constant and the fans are quiet. He sent his card away Tuesday so was a pretty quick turnaround.
Thanks for the update, I received my refund today after sending away on Tuesday, although I did want a replacement and included a note stating as such
