The Athlon II X4 650 has been renamed to the Phenom II X4 840 and can be had for around £80.
So is there any difference between the Athlon II X4 650 and the Phenom II X4 840?
The name.![]()
The Phenom II X4 840 runs at 3.2GHZ and the Athlon II X4 645 at 3.1GHZ so if you can get a Phenom II X4 840 for around £80 it is worth the price.
However, the 3.2GHZ Athlon II X3 450 can be had for around £58 and is basically a Phenom II X4 840 with one less core.

Is this the one your speaking about?
It matters what you want your cpu for, there's a good one in every price range for every application at the moment we are living in good timesand at the moment i cant think of a current "bad" cpu, the problem is applications are struggling to keep up with hardware and a 4 year old quad can still hold its own
