Looks like AMD have responded pretty fast to the release of the GTX295

And only having 40% of the share, would have thought it be more as ATI video cards have been top for sometime now.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the rest of the range. The new x2 4870 price will be uncomfortably close to the X2 4850....

Now if only that silly exchange rate hadn't got all messed up.

2x 4870X2 cards for 1080p? Sweet, you will be able to use LOADS of AA. I'm a big fan of AA and high res from my CRT days.

Dang, $449 to pounds +15% =£339, seen them up already, been available preorder for 2-3 days now.

however, if the pound/dollar was back up at 1.80 that would be all the way down to £290 which would make it a kick ass card value wise and frankly, crap all over the 295. At £339 its still easily the better choice tbh, but £290 and there wouldn't even be a question or possibility that the 295 was a choice.

Just a shame because it was £330 at launch, I got mine around £320 then the pound died.

Last few days the pound is gone back up to 1.52ish from 1.44 earlier in the week so even that helps.
