Probably more down to game patches than drivers, many games release in a poor state nowadays and takes a few years to optimise.
Maybe maybe not, depends really on the state of the game in question at launch.

The old drivers would also be optimised to the game before any patches took effect so if he used the current up to date patched game then the old drivers wouldn't be optimized to it which is probably why it shows a larger difference, what he needs to do it test both old and new versions of a game with both old and new drivers.Maybe maybe not, depends really on the state of the game in question at launch.
That's a lot, i have no doubt the 40 series has also improved with drivers, i'm looking forward to seeing how the compare now, he will no doubt do a comparison.
And the old GPU, would like to know how the 7800 XT compares with the 6800 XT, if this is RDNA 3 specific or if it applies to RDNA 2.
It's been done, I posted it previously and it showed the gap between the 4090 and 7900xtx has grown larger since launch, indicating Nvidia fine wine has outpaced amd fine wine, both have improved however

Not just 40 series, all RTX cards. Because of the way Nvidia drivers and DLSS suite of files work, you can just manually swap out old game DLL files with the latest and benefit right away from the advances in DLSS super res, DLSS frame gen (obviously 40 series only) and DLSS ray reconstruction which is supported by all RTX cards.i have no doubt the 40 series has also improved with drivers,
Good, peasants need to stick to consoles. Keep spending your UC on drinkUnfortunately that's where my pc gaming came to an end, because the prices were getting ridiculous.

You'll never see a reviewer document this though because the DLSS files update every few months, can you imagine how much work is needed to update every graph showing multiple GPUs every time Nvidia update the DLSS dll files? No reviewer will go that far an extra mile lol. That falls on us on forums to discuss and observe.

C'mon, most games released these days should never have been released when they were. Cyberpunk is the exception, not the rule. Most remain turds.
You realize that cyberpunk had so many issues that 1) it had loads of memes about it's bugs and performance that are more legendary then Bethesda bugs which I didn't think were possible.C'mon, most games released these days should never have been released when they were. You jest but we're 4 years into the current gen and when you look for true next gen games that define a generation it's like trying to find an ice cube in he Sahara desert. When I look at what Nintendo are doing on the Switch I can't help but be impressed how they execute on their release schedule delivering bangers year after year. When the Switch 2 lands and provided it's still portable I'm moving back to a console for the first time since the Sega Saturn.Good, peasants need to stick to consoles. Cyberpunk is an exception to what? That had performance issues on consoles as well as crashing issues on pc among other bugs

2) it got removed from the online PSN store for a long time.
I can't recall any other game that happened to.

He means Cyberpunk is the exception because even though it took a while it actually got fixed. Most are released as turds and as cyclonus10 says remain turds
