Can you not read? I said "equal". Not better.

And again, we've been getting rammed down our throats that frame rate isn't the defining factor of performance.

The two won't be "equal" as a blanket statement, even at 1080p.

Frame rate isn't... But what makes you think an FX83 vs i5 would have worst frame latency? you have anything to back that up? <--- honest question

You're not getting it.

What am I not getting? My monitor now has a USB you saying a new monitor with the possibility cant have some sort of fail proof firmware updating system?

Most newer Motherboards now have this! my Asus p8z77 can even update without having CPU or RAM installed.

You making it sound like its Alien and no one can update monitor or they will blow.

I'm not even sure you're reading what I'm typing, so I won't bother.
It's almost like you're reading one thing, and getting four other things. It's so frustrating. I just want to chuck my monitor out the window.

You said how did I update I told you by Wifi, cable or USB... Ok on TV you have choice update by internet it will download and flash the firmware. By USB go to Site and download the file put on USB plug into TV go to firmware page and click USB..

Is that what you really wanted to know? Its a bloody file you install, not some sort taking apart the display and installing new hardware.

My God! you ever updated a MB firmware? its just like that.

Why do you keep using other electronic devices as examples? I haven't come across any monitors that require a firmware update or that require said updates. Firmware updates for monitors carried out by users is unheard of and thats the issue. You are making it sound that tv updates and monitor updates are common, when only in tvs it is common.

He asked me how did I update TV... And I agree I have never updated a firmware on a monitor but I willing to bet.. Its not that much different if the display you bought has the updating process software.

Its more known now in TV because TV come with much more then just TV.. Monitors dont yet offer all that. Go back to a standard TV will that allow firmware updating I wouldn't think so, just like a most monitors there just standard viewing.

I'd take a step back from the keyboard.
But you hardly replied before you edited my post as you'd quoted my post.

If yoou must know this is what I was replying to.. "BEFORE!" You edit post

Shankly you are just trying to make it sound like existing monitor owners will benefit from freesync by just an 'easy firmware upgrade' because your tv can update firmware by many methods.
Is there a list of the freesync monitors being released in December?

Not me who said it.. Huddy said they is monitor's out there now that can be updated!

I did NOT say all "monitors" I know mine can't I have already asked BenQ

When you click quote, it'd have my full post in. Same as when I clicked quote here, originally it said ; "BEFORE!" You edit my post.
Now it says "BEFORE!" You edit post.

But even then, the comment about Samsung's updating makes no sense, look at the article update date.

Well I guess when I clicked Quote on that reply you had already edit your post and it Quoted all it.. But when I was first replying back, I was replying to what I have just shown you not what you put in afterwards.

I like how Shankly gets annoyed when people can't understand why something called FreeSync isn't free, but then doesn't care about the meaning behind the well known phrase "a poor mans..." which apparently has to be read word for word and have no interpretation applied. FreeSync however you're expected to know the history of it!

One rule for him and a different one for everyone else apparently!

Also, I'm currently running a FX-8350 CPU and a 7950 GPU and the 8350 bottlenecks the 7950 in some games at 1080p so I'm sure it'd bottleneck a 290 in those games. So I think a 8350 could be false economy. Get an i7 (which I also have, albiet a 4770K) and whichever GPU, with the options supplied that'd mean the 980.

Nice that Gibbo already has some 'FreeSync' Monitors lined up. Although I won't be interested until were getting 3820x2160 or 4K @ 120Hz or better.

A friend mine runs 290 with 8350 @ 4ghz and plays most games 1080p 60fps very happily.

FreeSync I have already countless time on here said why its called "Free"
Its because manufactures dont after pay a Premium for it to say AMD, just like Manufactures do with Gsync. Hence the name FreeSync!

Love me some anecdotal evidence :p

I'm exhausted with all this running you're making me do.

Here Crysis 3, Don't forget the 8350 will struggle while recording also.

Battlefield 4 - skip to DX - Again remember performance hit when recording

Want more?

And again when I click reply this part wasn't in your post!
I'm exhausted with all this running you're making me do.

So looks like OCUK forums have some new way on Quoting posts. :p
