Retailing at £499 inc VAT the LG Flatron 34UM67 is the same price as the non-FreeSync 34UM65-P, so it’s great to see that Freesync hasn’t inflated the price of this monitor. As such, for any gamer who owns an AMD Radeon R9-series graphics card it’s well worth checking out as a tearing and stutter free monitor makes a huge difference to your gaming experience.

"You're wrong! Freesync costing less extra than G-sync doesn't make it free. Who cares about the extra cost involved for the new display-port standard? They are still extra for Freesync, so Freesync is not free."

:D:p;)

As much as I would like to have the LG Flatron 34UM67, it is simply TOO BIG for me to use on my desk...is there any 29" 21:9 model coming, and hopefully at sub £300 price point? ;)

Think I'll be going for the Benq over the Acer as it has a lot of seemingly added features like the extra actually convenient to use screen controls. The extra features though may make them think it's a premium model so I can see them trying to price it up a bit. Hopefully the Acer's presence will limit any ideas they have about Swift like pricing.

Regardless of freesync being free, no licensing cost and that DP 1.2a and different chips really shouldn't increase costs beyond a few quid(if that), it doesn't stop someone charging more just for the sake of it. Asus do it not only on the swift but every damn thing they sell. All say early reference gpu sales are identical cards, Asus will still be the single most expensive AMD or Nvidia card regardless of if they are all identical.

BenQ and Acer are amongst the cheaper less ripping off brands. If it's sub £400 on launch I'll buy straight off, if not I might wait a month and see if they start fighting on price a bit.

Thing that I can't wait to try is Freesync enabled with vsync disabled.

This for me if it's how I understand it is the biggest feature. 30-144 any frame rate between that point Freesync will kick in, but because you have Vsync disabled the display will let you go over the 144fps..

So on say battlefield I could have 200fps and then if frame rate drops down into the freesync spec you Continue to get smooth frame rate.

Just as with GSync I can't see me buying a new monitor just for this feature.
When we start seeing 4K 120/144Hz panels (IPS would be nice) then I may look to get a new monitor at which point it'd be nice to get one with GSync/Freesync.

I believe there was talk that my Iiyama screen could be updated/upgraded to Freesync, but it seems like too much hassle to be worth it.

I'll be getting either the LG or the Predator but I would have preferred either a 144hz 2560 x 1440 that's bigger than 27" or a 21:9 with more than 60 hz. If we hear of either in the pipelines before I buy I'll continue to wait a bit longer but if they look to be a year or more away I'll buy one of these.
