***AMD Freesync owners thread***

Still hoping that the Iiyama B2888UHSU-B1 I have will be able to receieve a firmware update as the panel is freesync compatible. Whilst Iiyama may not offer the free upgrade as once rumoured I'll take the panel apart and DIY it if some bright spark puts a how to up on the net.

In what way?

This IPS 144HZ gsync monitor has pretty much no weakness at all now:

Why pick the rog swift over it? The acer isn't much more expensive but has way better colours & image quality & better viewing angles with no contrast shift.

To quote badass:

Move over Asus ROG Swift PG278Q, in our opinion we've got a new king of gaming monitors!

Look at the review/graphs, there is virtually no difference between that acer and the asus swift, the asus swift still has slightly better response time but with a little overshoot.

LOL tn panel, that ips acer kills that swift for IQ and is nearly as fast. **** if I had the cash I would have it. Hope they do a freesync model

It is still down to personal preference, personally, playing lots of games with a dark background and prefering to play in low light conditions i will take TN over IPS as IPS glow does my head in and the swift still edges out the IPS for motion clarity

I'm actually hoping the curved gsync thingy isnt ips either

I think it's been pretty much confirmed NO manufacturer is going to offer firmware upgrades to patch in Freesync support.

Why would they? Makes no business sense.

I think this looks unlikely Woodsta888. :)

I'll be interested in seeing what monitors come out with Freesync. I will upgrade when one comes out that is really worth the money, at the minute i am ok with my 1080p 120hz screen. Maybe some time this year there will be a nice 1440p Freesync screen to upgrade to.

Not holding much hope for a screen with both Gsync and Freesync though.

It's not terrible I'll say that much, playable but after using 1440 you'll notice there is something off with the picture at 1080 on a 1440 monitor.

When the people who got suckered in by the Swift drop off (finally feel like they got their money's worth and upgrade, trade up etc) everyone will finally agree that TN is dead.
