AMD FreeSync vs Nvidia G-Sync - the adaptive sync battle

well one of them is ubisoft games i shudder to think what the others are
i can imagine bad bad things! :( way worse than horseback riding

lambchop woke up grumpy huh!

Where is this been said, the posts I have seen are saying the opposite.

People with Gsync saying they hope that people get a similar experience to what they get etc.

To be honest all your posts seem intent on causing trouble.

This.

I and others have said this many times, everyone needs to have the gaming experience gsync brings, for this to happen freesync needs to be a success as it gives everyone the option to dabble in it.

Wonderful tech to the point it makes price premiums worth it.

I really did enjoy ACU and thankfully, I got to complete it before they "fixed" it. They have given the Kings DLC for free, so not all bad but with textures now flickering like crazy and so much stutter, I am not going back. That is the worst release I have ever seen from any company and unacceptable really.

G-Sync in full swing couldn't help that POS out after they fixed it :D

So Mei, are you grabbing a Freesync monitor or are you going to wait on reviews or just not really interested?

As an NVIDIA user, I'm more focused on gsync as that's what ill need. Freesync, I have little knowledge of tbh. But id never want to see the company fail, at the end of the day theres peoples livelihoods at stake. And the ordinary Joe working on the factory floor in the countries were the components are made, probably isn't on that great a wage to start with.

Fair point, I was a bit harsh saying that when peoples livelihoods are at stake, you're right :)

you said you liked it!
im thinking of getting another 21.9
but it will need to be big i dont sit that close to my screen
in truth it would mostly be for LoL bcos that game tears like a bitch
thats about the only fast paced game i play now
and maybe ill play some tera again

The only downside to this tech at the moment is being pigeon holed into a gpu company based on your equally expensive monitor choice.

ye but only 1 of the 2 choices makes u a pigeon for sure!
not that theres anything wrong with pigeons

gregster do u play good games too? :) have u tried gsync with depth?
or even any1 whos played it 21:9

You ask me if I play good games too and then put the game "Depth" into the the same sentence :D I have played Depth on G-Sync for around 20 minutes and promptly turned it off and never played it again. I liked the premise of the game but the physics, the sharks and the silly collector vessel just made it rubbish to me. For what I can remember though, it played nice and smooth in those 20 minutes.

dont lie you turned it off bcas you were scared lol
we shuld play some time :p

Lol, I can see it as a bit of fun but just not my bit of fun.

Anyways, back on topic, there is a freesync 21:9 screen on its way, so at least there is plenty of choice.

1080P
4K
2560x1080
1440P

Looking good for its release. And I do hope people buy it.

Dont think i could get used to 21.9 myself, also i believe there are some games that dont play well with 21.9. 1440 will be where im going. Just need the swift to drop down in price or wait for a TWO deal.

Any more information came out of the FreeSync on and Vsync Off feature?

Be great running 144hz Freesync on - Vsync Disabled with CSGO
Also very interested in seeing how the input lag is with CSGO when frame rate is locked to the 144hz
Gsync was very bad here, forcing the users to reduce the frame rate to 120fps..

If it works has I see it you can run games above the refresh rate get screen tear "Not that I care" and then once frame rate drops back down into the F-sync Spec you still keep a nice smooth frame rate..

For me this is massive and I hope its this is correct on how I think it will work.

Once you go 21.9 there is no going back!!!! :p

I love the aspect ratio, the wideness, extra FOV etc. just immerse you so much more than 16.9 displays, something that has to be experienced in person to truly appreciate imo, much like these g/free sync screens I imagine.

I don't play as many games as some on here so can't really give an accurate % of what games do and don't support 21.9 properly but these games support the AR properly, a couple have some HUD issues, but nothing major

- BF 3, 4 & hardline (and I imagine all future DICE titles)
- batman arkham city, origins (not sure about arkham asylum)
- TF 2 & CS GO (and I think most other valve games work with 21.9 nicely)
- sim city (newest one)
- wolfenstein: the last order
- alien isolation
- bioshock infinite
- ryse son of rome
- middle earth
- tomb raider
- metro games
- titan fall

Ones that don't support the 21.9 ratio properly:

- far cry 4 (a patch made it much better but still not good enough)
- dead rising 3
- watch dogs
- vanishing of ethan carter
- far cry 3
- call of duty advanced warfare

The middle 4 above have all been tweaked via flawless widescreen or/and config tweaks to give 21.9 support.

Since 21.9 monitors seem to be taking of big time over the last several months, I would hope that game developers will start adding true support before release day....

I just hope GTA 5 supports 21.9....

I would like to see a 21:9 display and have a play for a couple of hours but it doesn't appeal to me. After playing though, my mind could be different, so I would never say never.

Imagine two 1280x1024 monitors side by side, then remove the bezel from the middle, it's awesome :)

Yer, I can see the appeal. I am wanting more screen estate and I feel with 4K, I can afford to go 40" and still run at pretty much max settings and not lose too much quality. I sit around 4-5ft from my screen and I am hooked on ED and can see that game benefiting from a bigger screen, as I can many others.

Come on moni manu's - Make it so.
