"AMD"Gaming evolved DVR beta

DXtory for separate audio streams. I don't think we see this feature for very long time if at all. This one feature dxtory seems to have a that no other recording software has.

Just directx am sure. Mantle recording will come when it gets released open to the public.

Pity on both counts really.
Might be useful one day if they can get those points sorted.
Would also be nice if it wasn't part of Raptr.

Isn't Raptr available to anyone, not just AMD too? (It's just the basis of what is used in AMD's Gaming Evolved app?)

It is available to anyone, though the AMD edition has features that normal Raptr doesn't have... i think. Can't be bothered to uninstall, install normal Raptr, uninstall then reinstall GE APP and find out for sure though. :p

Yeah if I was recording I would always go with dxtory no matter the performance hit, based solely on I can edit audio to my liking.
But if you someone who don't care about teamspeak or even bother joining chatting software then this will be great.
Am not sure, I know raptr is open, but is the AMD app?

^ I'm pretty sure that rascal from Aberdeen with his 780 SLI setup was using the AMD APP to build up points. No idea if he was allowed to spend them though.

I'd imagine the AMD app isn't but the link you posted in post #3 was to the raptr forums, so I'd assumed it was a raptr feature that the AMD app had inherited.

Nah it's definitely not a Raptr feature. This is something the RadeonPro guy (John) was working on for RP before he went to work for Raptr.

Bit off feedback from raptr forum.
Okay, nevermind its working, incredibly smooth, I mean almost no performance loss, well done! I wouldn't mind a button that allows you to control how much encoding is being done, 400 mb for 3 min video not too bad

This is a promising start. I'm guessing it's going to be quite basic at first. That's ok though, they can improve it over time.

I reckon they may have pulled the update because of the crashing issues Tommy and Westie mentioned.

I'm not into recording gameplay footage (I don't want people seeing how bad I suck from my POV) and if I was I wouldn't use this because it's part of the Gaming Evolved thing. Same reason I wouldn't use ShadowPlay, which I believe is part of Nvidia's Experience app?

I want less clutter and bloatware 'trying' to be helpful.

Still I'm sure there are people that want to record footage but aren't serious enough about it to need the split audio ablity of dxtory and then things like this and ShadowPlay seem like decent additions (if you don't mind the other bloatware that goes along with it).

So props to Nvidia for putting the idea out there in the first place.

I just instralled this i have the Twitch option but no DVR option does that mean its an older version of the app?
Thanks

Haha yes I was, haven't ran it in a while though as the pop ups were ******* me off :p

Glad amd are getting a shadowplay equivelant, hope the perf hit is as minimal as well :)

You can disable everything that pop up in the notification part.
You can have it so the program will never bother you. It's highly customizable.

As I understand it the benefit Shadowplay and this have is that you don't have to record 24/7

If you make a few good kills and think ooooo I want to save that, you simply press a button and up to a set number of minutes is recorded.

Most people i've spoken prefer this feature and its one of the reasons why they prefer to use Shadowplay.

Yeah, I can understand that. I rarely have good games so don't want to record the whole thing either, just the bits that would make me look good.
I guess the people that do a lot of recording and uploading to YouTube either always expect to have good games so want to record it all or don't care if it's good or not. These people are then the ones that also find it useful to be able to separate the audio streams. I think we all know that you can be playing with mates and joking about stuff that within that group is OK and funny, but is not something you would want to have on YouTube. So being able to mix in and out teamspeak chat is probably quite useful.
If you just want to catch the last couple minutes to get the flukey headshot on the helicopter pilot to show your friends then that's different.
