"AMD"Gaming evolved DVR beta

By the way if you get Dynamic Vsync working in Arma 3 or DayZ SA or Skyrim + ENB I'd love to know what settings you used, thanks :)

Why would you use it in these games anyway? At best of times there running sub 30fps so vsync will be switched off.
Dynamic vsync will only enable if you keep above your refresh rate and in them games you listed I very doubt you are, skyrim maybe but arma 3 and dayz no chance.

It's been long time since I tried it think it was bf3 and worked fine, but I play with sync off and just lock fps to 120fps

Did some actual benchmarks with DVR on/off.No real difference in FPS.Great tool

Thats great results there :D

Tearing, bad tearing!

Oh and I can get 60fps in Arma 3 and DayZ SA thanks very much :p besides why is it we get people that just because THEY don't use it, I shouldn't too :/

I want to use it end of

Wasn't having a go. I was pointing out that arma and dayz are very bad for frame rate and in and around towns your fps will be in 30s most of the time so therefore vsync will be disabled.
You be better off just using normal vsync.
When I last played standalone on my system frame rate in and around the main towns and cities was well in the 30s does dayz now run 60fps in these parts?

Problem is with normal Vsync which I noted in Breaking Point was that I kept on getting a weird frame rate lag. In looking at my frame rates they were dropping to 30 then clicking going back up to 60 again because of the way Vsync works. Was never an issue walking forward, only when I quickly panned the screen :)

I used to play DayZ with Nvidia's Adaptive Vsync and it was brill

So now on the standalone do you keep frame rate above 60fps in towns and cities?
I'll after just back on it some time and see how it performs on my system.

To be honest it's all over the place, however the vast majority of time I'm at 60fps. Turning off SSAO and post processing really helps

However with Vsync you are more likely to drop to 30fps instead of just say 50fps with Dynamic

But wouldn't that make dynamic vsync keep switching on and off? So you still end up with screen tear?

Review here nice read.

Closing Thoughts
Wrapping things up, AMD tells us that they are expecting the Game DVR and Twitch features to exit beta later this summer. AMD and Raptr clearly have some polishing to do between now and then, but in the interim it’s already in a very usable and useful state.

As it stands AMD seems to have the basics nailed down for Game DVR, but from a competitive standpoint I don’t think there’s any getting around the fact that NVIDIA’s lead in developing recording software means that they still hold the edge in compatibility and functionality. AMD isn’t publishing a roadmap or feature list like NVIDIA did for Shadowplay so we won’t spend too much time speculating on what might be, but I’d certainly hope to see AMD continue to close the feature gap with NVIIDA. AMD doesn’t need 1:1 feature parity, but after having been spoiled by NVIDIA’s desktop capture, that’s really the last feature they need to make Game DVR a well-rounded utility.

No other recording app that i know of records to a quality standard; and do it with almost 0 performance loss as DVR. i'm really impressed with it.

Its a very welcome edition to a now growing portfolio of features.

Yeah the performance hit, is the biggest surprise for me. Wasn't expecting it tbh

I just tested Tomb Rider opening from steam and it worked fine.

Recording quality is very, very good. Performance hit was zero lol I had to stop the recording just to make sure it was recording haaa
That leads to one thing need maybe on-screen icon showing when recording. Hopefully add multi audio device recording and this will be complete winner from AMD.

I'm getting frustrated and about to go mad. Nope nothing working for me. It did work once for the Forest but since then, no key press in game does anything. What keybinds are you using chaps, maybe it doesnt like the CTRL+whatever

How do you have your menus configured, any chance of a couple screenies pls. It would seem self explanatory on the surface, but something is not right for me here.

Am using insert to start and stop. stupid question but have you switched it on? main menu click so its on?

Working on Tomb Raider too. Make sure you start via the App and make sure you have GameDVR set to enable as well as you have all the correct hot keys setup. I had afterburner running too whilst i recorded, however it appeared to disable the msi overlay.

RadeonPro Overlay was ok and even picked up in the recording.
