AMD getting revenge?

if i was able to use a mouse and keyboard on a PS4 i would be getting one

Same.
I've got a PS3 and an X360 and I just can't get used to dual sticks. It just feels wrong.

In some games the xbox pad works really well i find. Sleeping Dogs (yes i know Rusty but its true :p) is a good example of this. However most games and particuarly any decent fps game you need a keyboard + mouse.

nVidia's claims on not getting the game's code early enough have been contested and said to be untrue, and as we know nVidia have certain difficulties when it comes to telling the truth.

But, it shows that someone's lying about it.

nVidia factually did not get the same version as the final retail version as the "final" version code they recieved* - the AMD rep was careful with his words so its hard to work out where the truth lies but its also possible AMD didn't get the actual final version of the code as the "final" version either. I find that likely as its hard to believe QA for both nVidia and AMD missed the fact dozens of effects were missing from both make cards.

Regardless unless someone can find me a statement to the contrary all the changes made to TressFX in the patch notes and released statements were all tweaks because people didn't think it animated naturally and was floating off the shoulders - no changes to TressFX have been noted as being due to nVidia performance people seem to be dreaming this up for an excuse to snipe at nVidia.

AFAIK nothing on the GK10x cards regarding DirectCompute11 is missing that would be used for TressFX - the only DX11.1 features missing are 2x hardware accelerated 2D rendering functions that aren't commonly used for gaming and another couple of features which are most often used for debugging and of limited use in the release version of a game. Granted the compute performance of GK10x is somewhat unspectacular but thats another story.

Regarding PhysX - nVidia are desperate to promote CUDA so they are unlikely to port it to what is essentially a competitor to CUDA any time soon :S

* They were then sent the actual final version at the last minute, possibly AMD to but I don't have the facts on that.

The way the game looks is as good as it's going to get on console hardware. No point in settings. Unless you want better FPS for deathmatch games, but then you either have to deal with a crappy pad or artificially crippled mouse & keyboard with fake input lag so the pad players don't have their bubble burst.

Haven't noticed fake input lag in the MP but I only ran around some of the maps offline to check, MP will suck a bit on keyboard and mouse due to lack of proper strafing outside of aim mode but even so pad players would get rented if they tried to take on someone using keyboard and mouse in the MP portion :S

From what I've seen tho the MP is a wasted opportunity they could have done so much more with the 2 different sides and play styles for the 2 different sides and maps to suit that instead of what is mostly uninspiring stock arena type maps.
