**AMD GPU PRICE DROP: AWESOME CARDS @ AWESOME PRICES!!**

Yeh mate they seem to hold value really well, such great cards up there with the 8800GT in my opinion. Actually got £88 for the card, but after paypal fees etc worked out at around 80 :)

Funnily enough the blue PCB was one of the reasons I bought the card as I already have a blue gigabyte motherboard

Nice.

Tbh, I'm struggling to justify the upgrade... I don't know how, but BF3 runs so well with this card it just seems silly to splash out for the sake of AA and higher minimum fps (I'm capped at 60fps), which isn't a problem as it stands.

I just want it :D

Wouldn't bother, the whole factor of playing a game at highest settings is such a glorified thing, the difference between high/ultra etc is so minimal it's not worth the hit half the time. Especially when half the crap you turn on hinders you online. :p

My 6970 is on it's last legs I think and keeps freezing, I put CS:GO onto lowest settings and it still crashed on me. I went on it later on and didn't even realise it was still on low! Didn't even look to bad at all.

The pricing however is very good, 7850 especially.

To be honest if I was capped at 60 I probably wouldn't have upgraded! But I just recently bought a 120hz monitor and I am trying to get as much frames as possible out of my games! Plus, 3D is nice as well :)

Do any of you really notice the difference when you get over 60fps? 50-60 is perfectly smooth for me.

I'd only go with a 7850 for the reduced power consumption and the minor performance upgrade.
The 7950 would probably keep me at or very near to a constant 60 or so with the last few things turned up... It'd still be slight overkill though, but hey, better to have more and not need it right?

Oh dear, upgradeitis strikes again!

It's nice to see the 7950s at these prices permanantly, but it doesn't seem like a price drop since they've been this price for a week already at least.

How much of jump would i get going from 460 to 7850 gaming at 1920 x 1080?

Also i know 660 more expensive but is 660 better?

The 660Ti isn't worth it at the current price, that 192 bit memory interface really lets the card down with higher levels of AA unfortunately- something you shouldn't expect from a £250 card.

Definitely, 100%. I am using my onboard graphics right now, it can't handle the 120hz so I am stuck at 60hz and the mouse cursor is so jittery it's driving me insane.

I played quake 3 for a very long time so am very sensitive to frame rates, 60fps is unacceptable to me, it needs to be above 75 or I don't consider it smooth.

When I switched from my previous 60hz monitor to 120hz, the difference to me was immediate, I could NEVER go back to 60hz.

What this man said ^
I could never go back to a 60hz monitor, the difference is just too noticeable.

Anyone who says they're happy with 30fps is beyond me lol.

lol, I wouldn't be happy with 30fps either.

Ah well, I'm happy with the TV, no input lag, 1080p and 60fps on a big screen for now. Besides, sitting up at a desk for extended periods really kills me.

It would be nice to rock a quality monitor though...

The price has gone back up on that one. Might want to look at the Sapphire or MSI cards.

Loving today's 7850 price drops even if I'm not gonna get one :D
