Puts OcUK as pretty much the best pricing in the UK I believe. :)

MSRP after two years and next gen on the way, bargain.

The general climate of todays market is somewhat different to that one of two years ago, inflation, a weaker pound, massively increased shipping cost and MSRP's which to be quite frank were overly aggressive and hence some manufacturers can now just about hit them and some still cannot.

Everything is now considerably more expensive than it was just six months ago due to inflation, fuel and energy cost.

Pointless this late in the cycle, after 2 years it's no good being MSRP or slightly below, realistically any tech that's going to be old and outdated should be well below MSRP. Retailers, E-tailers, Nvidia, AMD have had 2 years or so of absolute grotesque price gouging, now the panic is setting in trying to sell the huge amounts of back stock that ISNT selling (Gibbo and other business have to say other, they aren't your friends, they are here to make as much profit as possible) This isn't knocking him or anyone else, he's just doing his job. But you got to be mad to pay these prices so long down the road with next gen only months away. If you have to buy these cards, just wait another 6 months they'll be substantially cheaper than current pricing.

But then with rocketing inflation and insane energy prices, I fail to see masses going out and buying £1000 GPU's with sky high power requirements. Just hold off buying, let everyone sweat prices will tumble.

LOL!!! Prices where they should have been 2 years ago are now "great prices"? not they're not, these cards are 2 year old and shortly to be "obsolete". They should be half the price of what they are today!

This is beyond words, the backdrop to this is two years of relentless gouging by the way...have you forgotten?

Come on guys wake up. You're being played.

:)

Finger on the trigger...

Do I get a stop-gap like a 6650XT (e.g. the Sapphire Pulse at £380) or lower and see how things pan out,
or say stuff it and go for something a little higher in the range.

Everything except graphics cards. ;)

That is because it was obvious the board partners were making higher margins than normal.

But you only have to fill up your car, go shopping and pay your electric bill to realise things are moving upwards, unfortunately. Thankfully items which were priced very high due to shortages months back have come down, just a shame they are only coming down towards and MSRP and not below.

That's good to know that there won't be any further price drops, means I can safely wait for the new GPUs.
