AMD GRAPHICS DEALS = 6900 XT @ £899, 6800 XT @ £649, 6800 @ £589, 6700 XT @ £449, 6650 XT @ £379 and 6600 @ £289

Oh, really?, Well I am an enthusiast, a PC gamer for decades that at the start of the year built a new PC, brand new Alder Lake platform etc etc, but did I buy a GPU?, NOPE, I shall continue to vote with my wallet and use my perfectly functioning overclocked GTX 1060 6GB, which even at 1440p smashes the main games I play, DOTA2, Dead by daylight and a few others. Together with work, family and stuff I see no value proposition in "here you go, buy this £1000 GPU to "game" on, no thanks, that money is spent better elsewhere, even for proper gamers.

Stop overcharging, give us back value, stop ruining the PC gaming segment and being plain greedy, you cannot keep driving up profits forever, yes LOOKING at you Nvidia, AMD etc etc.
I just built a 12700k system at £1500
Stuck my old 980ti inside it :D who wants to pay a last gen gpu at current prices NVDA are laughing their way to the bank with their 40-50% net profit margin, I bet AMD aren't much lower...

I was tempted to get a 3060ti FE to tide me over ,but meh why bother, there's no games coming out that need a new gpu anyway

once the recession hits and they need to fight for the sales so their stocks don't crash the good prices might come

I went the 3060Ti FE route but I aware I'll take a bit of a loss on it if there's anything decent to upgrade to price/performance. At least I can play something now if I want to.

You won't lose much if anything on that FE price and will probably last you a fair bit during the next gen chaos that's due. Noticing prices are tumbling and OcUK ain't the cheapest now.

True, I did factor in that Nvidia cards always sell well and at £369 it's not too much invested. Does ok at 1440p.

To be fair to OcUK and Gibbo they did some forum deals which meant that some customers got reasonable deals in the midst of the mining boom. IMO the greedier people were those customers who scalped those forum deals (despite being told that these cards were not to be scalped as condition of being a deal)
I got the RX6800 for £599. Bargain at the time.

@Gibbo - Noticed the prices have slipped again and interested in the Nitro+. When is OcUK expecting stock, and does it qualify for the games package?

Yep got some deals out of Sapphire this morning, stock due next week. If the games package is not on the website, then it does not qualify.

Oh, that's a pity. Was tempted by the Sapphire Nitro+ I might consider the Pulse. Had a feeling the prices were going to drop again, have done each week so far.

The general climate of todays market is somewhat different to that one of two years ago, inflation, a weaker pound, massively increased shipping cost and MSRP's which to be quite frank were overly aggressive and hence some manufacturers can now just about hit them and some still cannot.

Everything is now considerably more expensive than it was just six months ago due to inflation, fuel and energy cost.

And that's the worrying thing, costs for eveything from the most basic PCB components to the cooler materials through to final shipping costs have ballooned in price.

People who think they are going to get RTX 3080 performance for RTX 3060 money with the next generation are in for a shock, Nvidia / AMD are no doubt worried about selling expensive hardware in the cost of living crisis and coming rescission but they also cannot afford to be giving them away for cost.

Could well be Nvidia still have loads of 3xxx stock. As a business it makes more sense selling 3xxx for what you can get and delaying the 4xxx release rather than discount the 3xxx and bringing out the 4xxx release. Nvidia can do what they want if recent events have told us.
So its far more likely Nvidia is holding silicon stock rather than the GPU products themselves, its the AIBs the distributors the retailers that are left holding the product.

Also what is not clear to me is can the retailer determine their own pricing independently or is there some tie in or minimum price they are allowed to go so as not to undercut others too much? I don't know the answer to that but in some industries like music instruments the manufacturers will stop supplying you product if you try to sell their product too low.

Not sure I understand your way of thinking and spending your money.
Mate built a gaming pc last week for £950 with a 12400f and a 3060ti fe and he is having a superior gaming experience to you while saving half a grand.

Even a 12600K would have given him another £110 to put towards the GPU, find another £50 saving in that somewhere and its the difference between an RTX 3060Ti and an RTX 3070Ti.

For gaming the difference between the 12700K and the 12600K is literally NILL. The GPU however....

Get £50 (or more) for the 980ti and there is your answer.

I could get a 3090ti right now if I wanted to, FE version even comes with a 280 instant at checkout rebate... thats how desperate nvidia are to shift cards lol
my point was theres literally no reason to upgrade at current prices for anyone who has a GPU they are happy gaming on right now, it's not like new games are coming out.

6800xt seemed tempting at one point but I looked it's RT performance and it was abysmal, hopefully the next gen cards are a big step up in that regards

Exact same CPU I got, with 32 gigs DDR5. I came from an ancient PC that died, otherwise I would waited until end this year for raptor lake and new gpu's, as it stands I was forced to upgrade early, but REFUSED to upgrade the GPU, but soon!, Oh and I upgraded from a core i5 4670k (2013 quad core, no HT) and 8 gigs ddr3 ram....LOL, night and day performance difference is a HUGE understatement!

Mate, 6900XT/3090TI performance is going to be about £400-£500 next coming gen, no doubt about it, so a 3080 is easily be matched by the 4060, perhaps not at 4k, but 1440p 100%, with VASTLY improved raytracing, no brainer. This is the main reason they will bring those cards out last, cause it will make their overpriced cards currently look SHOCKINGLY bad...

I hope you're right, this gen is a royal mess.

What a dumb post, he purchased a vastly superior CPU, both in gaming and workloads. Then, you have no idea of his personal needs, so his motherboard might be high end, he might have gotten way more and faster ram, and more and faster SSD's etc etc..... you cannot compare the two builds on knowing the cost and what CPU each of them got....just because your mate got a low tier system with a GPU that is overpriced and soon to be obsolete....Just a dumb comparison.
