AMD "Hawaii" R9 290X GPU Specifications Revealed

Negatory. He said after the pre-orders come in the 7990 goes back to £600 as per amd's pricing. He also said Hawaii will be priced lower and perform slower than the 7990. Cue Hawaii coming in at £450-£500 or so.

Ah this is the only post from the man I had read:

When the new cards come out we shall increase 7990's too £600-£700 region, make of that what you will. ;)

Not going to see the light of day

Who wants to buy a Titan let alone an Ultra version.:D

Pretty much, at least to the former. It's a sure way to frump people off. Besides the architecture isn't exactly new. Assuming it'll just be a fully unlocked GK110, I'll eat my hat if they squeeze enough performance out of it to make people even bat an eye lid. If history is anything to go by look out for a 790GTX waste of time edition.

On the other hand I'm pretty happy gaming at 5292x with my 3 Titans, thanks.

Expect pricing to be at least £600+ TBH. If you're hoping for less you're kidding yourself.

AMD's new top single GPU will not be £600..

I predict,

£400 - £500 at launch
. (Depending on brand)
Swiftly dropping down to £350 once the initial sales drop off.
This time next year they will be £250+.

This time next year they'll be obsolete, midrange 20nm cards will be comparable in performance.

Now you guys can see why I said 7990 is a bargain, it's faster and cost less at current prices on OcUK :)

Gibbo just the man. Can you clear up the discussion me and pg tips were having?

As i read it the 7990 will move up to £600 and the new AMD card will slot in around £450-£500, right?

Yes our pricing is below where it should be on 7990 as were the only etailor with stock at sub £500, the correct price is £600-700 region.

Your not far off on new stuff ;)

Good to hear but id prefer to see the 7990 closer to £600 than £700 and the new card not much over £500 if at all. ;)

Saying that though, i can't afford either of them but will look on from afar. :D

If it's close to £500 I'd expect it to be at least on par with a 780 at stock. It will be interesting to see how well they clock.

IMO it will beat the 780 in performance and price, hell if AMD feel like having a go they might just boost the clocks enough to kill the titan, now that would be something to see.
