AMD hopes to put a little Mantle in OpenGL Next

Lol, Crytek need to continue existing first :p

Deep Silver (Who purchased Homefront from them, creators of Dead Island) are said to be helping Crytek get RYSE PC onto the market though.

Tbh though this is Crytek's last throw of the dice, if it flops, unfortunately they'll likely be another top developer on the scrap heap.

The troubles of Crytek has had a thread of its own already.

Ryse is bilge. :/

Interesting they are officially supporting 4K though, wonder if that means 4K textures. Would be nice to have a "4K support" sticker for games/hardware similar to the various levels of 80+ certification for PSUs.

German website Hardwareluxx revealed that Crytek’s upcoming PC version of Ryse: Son of Rome will support AMD’s Mantle API. This obviously does not surprise us as most – if not all – future CRYENGINE-powered games will support this API. After all, we believe that this was one of the reasons Crytek decided to implement native support for Mantle in CRYENGINE.

Wohoo.... more Mantle wholesomeness. :D
