I imagine it'd be difficult to get all sticks working at that speed on a Daisy chain layout board.

Where or how do you find out if its daisy chain or not. All this stuff with memory really puts a downer on an otherwise decent platform.

Most ryzen boards will be using Daisy chain. Only a handful like the Taichi boards will have T-Topology layouts that favour four slots occupied rather than the 2 of daisy chain.
More PCB layers is generally better for memory overclocks as well.

You can only really find these things out from more technical reviews and tear-downs. Like buildzoid on Actually hardcore overclocking.
