i like how the ati devs post on that forum about totally avoid rage3d thats been an ati fansite for over 10years and most likely the first one :rolleyes:

good also is their next series 8000 or so will be better off the bat with drivers as they learned how the GCN behaves.
 
I've just spunked £319 on a HIS 7970 X2 and have only just started reading this thread. I had not updated to the latest drivers on my 5850. I mainly play BF3 - have I just blown a load of cash for no reason?....
 
Oh, OK. Haven't found anything on the internet to say that it is voltage locked, but we'll see. Probably won't bother me too much anyway if it is. It seems pretty quick out of the box.
 
I'm only able to get an extra 40 / 50 Mhz on the core for 24/7 use with 24/7 volts anyway.

it runs at 1150 / 1500 on stock volts, 1200 / 1500 doesn't actually make a great deal of difference.

You only really need it for benching as most 7### GPU's clock pretty well on stock volts.

Sorry, turns out the person that said that got it confused with another card. Blame Mike. (if hes reading :p)
