AMD "Never Settle" 12.11 Driver - benchmarks

Hmm, very strange.

Could be a bug in the beta, try doing it all again.

Funny as i just rewrote what i was going to say as i originally wrote that the hotkey could be down to user error.

Yes the same situation with me yesterday that i wrote to you in the other forum and i said you can do the rest as im feeling lazy now

I'm about to spread the word, check my other thread, did i miss anything out before i pass it on to joe public?

Make sure that they understand that they must be on the Overrdrive screen when they make the preset.

Well if they follow my guide correctly it should work i think. :p

LtMatt have you tried this: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23014448&postcount=338

It might be just that the idle clocks are set wrong in the profile.xml for some reason. Editing it and setting them correctly should mean you don't have to manually set the clocks via hotkeys.

Unless it's a bug in the drivers just ignoring the want states for whatever reason.

Hmm, thanks HeX ill take a look and report back.

This is what it says

<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_PCI_VEN_1002&DEV_6798&SUBSYS_27701462&REV_00_4&80E7924&0&0008A">
<Property name="Want_0" value="30000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="30000" />

Well that's got 300MHz as idle and 3D state.

Want_0 is idle
Want_1 is 3D

Must be because you've made a custom profile.

Just did a factory reset and it still shows the same even with the clocks at 500/1375 so it must be something else.

Beta 3 has the problem as well chip.

Awesome improvement in BF3 for me. Can run ultra and 4xAA at 1920x1200 at solid 60fps on the standard maps, not so much on the more intensive maps like Oman

Does anyone have a problem with Afterburner not detecting the temp of 2nd card? Or is it just me.

just you :D, working fine with my 3 cards, you might have a problem where the second card is going into ULPS (turn the card off) before afterburner starts and then it won't detect it.

Personally I expected a performance driver like this in the new year to coincide with the 8xxx series launch. The bad news for Nvidia is that as the 8xxx also uses GCN, it has just been boosted 5-10% as well :D

Anyone think there might still be more to come from driver optimizations?

Wouldn't mind seeing 7870s equal to the 660ti.

Absolutely Im sure there is more to come, certainly game optimisations, perhaps not so much for synthetic optimisations. Im sure the same can be said for nvidia cards too, as there architecture is partially new.
