AMD Phennon II X6

Being a hoarder, I have both, among a fairly ridiculous collection of many more.

The 1090T is running in a Gigabyte 970 Mobo thats my main MediaCentre PC, running sweetly in a Zalman 501 Media Centre case.
I also use that with plenty of games too for giggles and its only got a stubby card in it, so not high end stuff, but it plays everything I can ask of it.

The 8350 is still in use and has only just been passed by my latest build, but it is by far my favourite machine.

I also just recently went and bought a 9590 but that project went to the dumps when I ended up spending on a cooler then a new case and it was only when I was knocking on the door of 500 notes that I decided enough was enough because the 8350 was cooler and faster than the 9590 was.

What I am hearing about the 1090T is certainly making me enjoy the fact that I have kept it... Had the 9590 been a good CPU to keep, the 8350 would have replaced the 1090 as my media PC and the 1090T would be on the MM weeks ago, but alas, it was not to be.

when I got a wee bonus there I decided an upgrade was required and was seriously considering the 9590 as my thoughts was if the 8350 gets replaced under warranty it can get built up for my son.

Im sure its yourself that made me step back and do a bit of reading up before I hit the buy now on the 9590 that was on clearance on overclockers shop..
I did a bit of reading up and was seeing horror stories on cooling so decided to look at other options.

I ended out spending £100 more than planned on the I5 4690k bundle but so far Im really pleased with it. Ive got it running 4.1Ghz which is nothing for this chip as far as im lead to believe but load temps are low 50's and it idles at around 25 so im happy

Im hoping once the 8350 gets replaced I can do some comparisons between the 2

Yes, I was really upset with AMD and the 9590.
They have simply clocked the hell out of the 8350 and there is simply no excuse for the heat generated by this CPU... They clearly had bugger all to compete with Intel and just had to do something to keep themselves relevant.

I am a lover of AMD, always have been, but Im not an idiot... I go with the fastest I can afford, of course I do, but frankly, AMD are just taking the pee with this.

Unless the next release of AMD CPUs are somethign special, then I am afraid, that AMD and I, are history.
