well said mate....
if a person hasn't owned a phenom how can they really say anything about it...
it isn't a very small percentage of the market, it's a lot more than u think...
intel boards isn't got the feature to be able to do all overclocking in windows. am i right? the new amd 790fx motherboards as got the feature to be able to do all overclocking in windows. no need to go in the bios... i guess u didn't know because u don't own one, right?...
as for the bios fix, it isn't needed to overclock.. im not running the bios fix and i overclocked my phenom to 2.6ghz without problems. i will push it more when i have time... so i have no idea where you got "They don't work over 2.4ghz" from..
please do your research better or buy a phenom system then u can say if it's good or crap.
Im sorry but you asid you cant use a keyboard or something which i had understood and fail to see why you have constantly used bold writing to try point it out further.
If this is why you need to go amd then fine, but this isn't really a reason not to go intel over amd for the majoirty of people. I would have thought that the amount of disabled overclockers is a small percentage.
And thers no need to get all agressive with me as you still missed the point of you claiming that intel boards cost over 150 quid which is why you shouldn't buy them and that some thinsg wont work on an intel board but will on an amd board? MM how does that work exacly?
As for me saying thety dont work over 2.4ghz. Im sorry i worded it wrong. They dont overclock anywhere near as well as the q6600, as above has shown the q6600 is faster clock for clock. The q6600 overclocks higher o and the q6600 doesn't have a chance of crashing over 2.4ghz. O and the q6600 doesn't have a bios fix which makes it overclock worse to try and fix a crashing problem which should never have been there.
So why buy a product you know has crashing problems over 2.4ghz whether u ahve had them yet or not you cannot argue with the reports. Why buy a product slower then its competitor and overclocks far worse? Quite a few had to upgrade their mobos anyway so why go amd over intel? And if you didn;t then as i said before intel has many new cpu's up and coming as far as i know amd are still tryign to fix the phenom. Intel is likely to be faster then amd going on current track record and their design which they are only shrinking.
Stop being so defensive over your phenom when they are completly out classed by the opposition. im not a fanboy im just using the best product out of the two.
i think your talking about a very small percentage of the market then if you cant use a keyboard. Also why should an intel board work any less then a amd board? As far as im aware the intel boards are the superiour ones which arn't needing bios fix's to try and get the amd quads to overclock.
To uise the arguement of well i dont want to buy an intell board incase something doesn't work on it = fail tbh.
To use the argument that the q6600 will have a significantly longer life span because it overcklocks to 3.6ghz on air. And that intel are pumping out new chips a lot faster which work! and will work with the current intel boards means it is the better investment. = good arguement
and your point of AMD board costs 100+ and intel costs 150+ is a fail also. There are many good P35 boards under 100 quid now which will overclock well.
Just incase you missed what id actually said.
They don't work over 2.4ghz? What a load of absolute tosh, overclocking isn't pointless and they do work, maybe you should actually do some research...
Have you ever actually used a Phenom system?
i worded it wrong, read above.
on a side note, do you use word recognition with a mic to type? I used to use it for doing long essays, works very well. The vista one allows you to click anything on the screen as it numbers all the buttons on screen and you just say the number.
