AMD Polaris GPUs Can’t Run Forspoken Due To Lack DirectX 12_1 Feature Level Support, NVIDIA Maxwell GPUs Run Fine

The demo has been patched as well and it now plays on my Hawaii R9 290, not that that's necessarily a good thing. It defaults to 1440p Low settings. It plays ok but looks like ass with broken hdr which seems forced on.

Its a thing of beauty lol. Running on 22.6.1 Legacy Drivers

Exactly how they fixed it they're not saying but the important thing is, everyone who was upset that Forspoken couldn't run on their 400/500 gpus can be happy that the devs fixed it :)

“Fixed” lol.

What was broken? The game supporting modern API or the old GPUs that AMD made incompatible for some reason?
 
The game didn't have a fallback AFAIK to support older versions of GPUs that didn't support the 12.1 spec or whatever it was.

Looks like a game patch changed all that, and now the (Polaris) cards can run it, albeit at low FPS I guess. :p
