** AMD R290X BF4 EDITION - WE ARE NOW TAKING PRE-ORDERS / DEPOSITS!! **

option 4
sell both 7950 for 300. grab a 7990 and a 7970.

effectively what i have done :p

Well this would be around £550.00 because I still need to buy a new PSU.

so I think would is better to spend £600.00 and get an I7 6 cores processor and 3x 7950s

Btw do you get any bottleneck with your 4770k in Trifire?

630W Be Quiet Pure Power L8 should be enough to power this, right?

Rest of spec is:

Haswell i7 4770k @ 4.5 Ghz
Asus Z87 Rog Maximus mITX motherboard
8GB Ram
1x HDD
2x SATA
1x Blu-Ray
240m Seidon Liquid Cooler (2x fans)
2x case fans

should be way more than you need. I used power meter on my rig once whilst idle and pplaying BF3, it didnt get above 100W draw at the wall during idle, im not sure it got much above 200w at the wall during load, which surprised me....

Not sure if this has been posted in this thread, final specs alledgedly: http://videocardz.com/46303/amd-radeon-r9-290x-final-specifications-bf4-bundle-available-preorder

£710 with conversion, sounds totally wrong, can't be that much here surely

Also...

right now the R290X BF4 edition could be priced anywhere between £400 - £650.

Interestingly Gibbo earlier said £400-£600 but he's added £50 on since then. Playing it safe maybe? :D

It seems the specs and launch price have been leaked from other retailers:

It seems someone managed to gleam from the website that the price is around $700,which is around GTX780 level pricing.

So,I suspect maybe the non-special edition card might be slightly below GTX780 level pricing??

Well if they are silly money I may just go and buy another 7970, I hate CF but at the current prices I think I could give it another go.

Its quite amusing people are confusing the AMD R290X BF4 EDITION pricing as being normal R9 290X pricing, despite so much information showing only a few thousand units worldwide are being sold.

If people really want an R9 290 or R9 290X,it probably is better to wait a bit longer and not pay early adopter prices.

Well gibbo stated that there will probably be a 20£ difference between the bf4 and normal cards. Yeah I usually wait before buying, I got my 7970 for only £300 :)

Hm, I am tempted to just put a cheeky pre-order in on the off chance it surprises us all and its ~£400.

If it is over £500 then i'm not interested.

Suppose I could put it on the credit card and then I technically wont be paying anything until its released anyway : /

As much as i want two of these cards to replace my little 5870's lol i think ill wait till theres proper benchmarks and at least an official price. I don't see the point in going crazy over a BF version, its going to be no different than any other card except maybe a BF sticker on it which isn't that exciting lol.
I guess for me theres no way i can spend £1000+ without knowing benchmarks and a proper price. No rush :D
