** AMD R9 NANO NOW IN STOCK & AVAILABLE!! **

I haven't been following lately, but seriously what happened with this? I thought the nano looked promising on paper, and potentially the one card that if priced right could give AMD some redemption for the issues with the Fury. Looks as though they missed the boat on this one too.:(

Out of interest which cases will fit this card but not the 980Ti?

I'm guessing this card isn't for living room gaming type PCs as the number of TVs that are 4K and have a DisplayPort seem pretty low and this can't do 4K over HDMI (well not above 30 fps). So it must be for 'proper' PCs (i.e. ones with monitors) that need a really specifically sized case? Which is the definition of niche I guess. Makes a Titan X look positively mainstream!

I think these are great little cards, but the price is almost certain to plummet over the coming months (or probably weeks!)...

People need to calm down and just let the supply/demand curve correct itself :)

I don't think the price will plummet in truth and looking at stock levels for all the Fiji cards, they have been in very short supply, so looks like AMD are happy to drip feed stock and keep prices high.

Oh for sure, there are obvious supply problems. But if they've only sold 2 Nanos today, I would argue that the demand at this price point simply isn't there (unlike the F and FX, which people actually are willing to buy at the current price points).

AMD will have no choice but to slowly cut the Nano's price until retailers are able to shift all of their available units.

I don't think any manufacturer would spend time making a new product then drip feed in 5 at a time to keep prices high, they simply can't make them in volume.

A new launch day card with only 5 in stock not selling out in minutes is unheard of.

It's hard to work out what the target market is for this card, someone who wants a top end performance GPU but inexplicably only has a tiny case?

You do realise the RRP is $649??

So the Nano should be around £500ish.

Not nearly £600.

I can understand a price premium for the ITX size, but I'd can't understand why they think they can charge more than a Fury X/980ti and for it to be less powerful.

Probably less than 500 cards from all manufactures for EU.

Or so I may or may not know.

Seriously why even bother "launching" if this is true?

AMD have become a laughing stock over the whole Fury launch, its been months since release and the Fury X still is not widely available, someone operating out of their garage could not of been any worse than this, they seem hell bent on self destructing at the moment, bad decisions, crazy pricing, AMD used to mean you were getting more performance for your money sadly that does not appear to be the case any more, the problem is we do need them in the marketplace.

It's so that they can shout about how they have the worlds fastest SFF card, even though NVidia isn't really trying.

It's similar to how they release X2's so that they can claim to have the worlds fastest graphics card, even though it's technically two cards in Crossfire and their single GPU's aren't the fastest.. marketing basically!

I suspect the whole Fiji line only exists in its limited retail guise to make AMD look like they're still active and not up **** creek without a paddle, if AMD hadn't released their horrendously stocked Fiji line and their entire 3xx rebrand line people would already be readying the coffin for them.
