AMD are hemorrhaging market share so fast there is no way on god's earth their management will be purposely delaying the launch of key next gen parts just to clear channels. Old stock can be sold at discount and written off. Gaining market share is extremely difficult, AMD risk going under 20% at this rate.
Which makes it even more likely there is a technical reason why the 390x is not ready for launch.
