Amd Radeon next move?

The problem amd have is nvidia are now on top of them from all points, performance, price, power consumption, noise and probably overall product quality.

Usually the above points were split between the two companies making it easier to show the competition.

You have to remember as well that the 900 series pricing as it is, is launch day without much stock, the price will drop even lower once larger deliveries are made, suspect we'll have £200-230 970's before Christmas.

I'm still waiting for amd's titan slayer.

yes the 970 might drop in price even more  but more importantly, even if you drop the 290x to say 200 quid (it'll never drop that far) the 970 still looks a much better card, the 290X suddenly looks old...overnight !

it'll only get worst for AMD, because it'll be ages before they can get a brand new card out....and this new card has to something very special... and cheap too !!!!!

I wonder how many r290 & r290x ocuk will sell this weekend compared to last weekend...

As it would be interesting to really know how much of an impact the new NVidia 9 series has caused AMD...

Even if amd had the room to drop the 290x to £200 it would mean big drops across the board, 290 for £160, 28x series sub £120 etc...good for the consumer but it would surely annihilate any profit margins for amd. Been very surprised by 900 series pricing, have to admit when all the spec rumours came out I had it chalked up as a failure waiting to happen with usual nvidia pricing. How very wrong was I.

It's all good though, amd will bounce back, nvidia have listened to customers issues with pricing and now everyone's a winner, the future is looking especially bright :)

I now want to see 8gb 970's for £300 and I may just fold and buy a trio.
