Amd Radeon next move?

yeah community manager just means you basically get info when people above you want to give you info and you told what to say. basically a tea boy.

Some tea boy! Do community mangers normally get gifted over a grands worth of gifts, I assume they are from AMD, but could be wrong.

The 3 free 290X's came from XFX not AMD, whether AMD (or Roy) had a hand in this I don't know. :)

I'm sure Matt is being paid well to make the tea! ;):D

Anyway, back on topic - Anyone heard anything that AMD have to counter the 980/970? The 285 is very underwhelming and really could do with another card from Team Red or at the least, a big price drop on the 290X/290. Not sure how big their margins are on those cards and how much lower they can go before selling at a loss.

Nothing at all like a underboss on here. For a start it's a full time job where he gets paid. Am sure correct me if am wrong underboss on here is not a paid job?

The GTX 970 and 980 will be easy for AMD to top (except on TDP) as these cards have a lot of compromises built in.

AMDs real problem will be the full fat GM200 cards as these could be absolute beasts compared to anything we have seen before. If people think NVidia made quite a leap going from the GTX 680 to the original Titan, then they could be even more surprised at the even greater leap NVidia could make going from a 28nm 980 to a 20nm Maxwell Titan.

Oh I totally agree, gm200, die shrink, Maxwell efficiency per watt, especially if it comes in at 250w+ will be an absolute monster, at a guess 80%+ perf on a titan black.

I think amd will sit tight and wait for the die shrink before their next move, hammering prices on their top line will make mid and lower lines obsolete, which ever way you look at it, it wouldn't be good for their bank balance.

290x at 438mm vs 980 398mm it's at disadvantage already being larger although that is with a memory bus that's twice the size as the 980 so if a future card was able to utilize a 256bit bus with the efficiency improvements they implemented in the HD285 presumably they can produce a smaller chip.

One thing to note is while it's easy to knock AMD's power hungry cards the GNC architecture was still fairly new and will be refined as process nodes shrink. The on Maxwell has evolved from Fermi which was when first lunched was up against a mature VLIW from AMD and low and behold wasn't as good (very big chips that were hot and power hungry). I would suspect by the time 20nm comes around or the generation after that the boot will be back on the other foot as the companies milk existing architecture for all it's worth until they have to come up with something brand new.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we have been blessed with a DM wall of text yet since the 970/980 release?

Soo want to be an Nvidia community manager, free titan!

What is the criteria to get such a job? be a raging Nvidia fanboy and **** off AMD.

NVidia are a professional outfit so there's no way they'd offer a managerial role (or any role for that matter) to some forum fanboy.

AMD seem to be more interested in community image than offering high quality products and support.

Matt may have been silenced but AMD are probably hoping that lots of new fanboys will step into the vacuum and give up their lives to promote AMD in the hope of being offered a job.

Unpaid Volunteer work as far as i know, discounts on stuff maybe.

So that's more a tea boy :p doing mods cleaning for them for free etc
Am sure Matt is laughing his head off at some these posts. I know I would if I got given the opportunity to work in something I love doing.
