AMD ramps up its Gaming Evolved program

I cried myself to sleep when AMD removed Wide Tent AA. Loved that in some games.

Left 4 Dead 2 being one of them.

It looked AWFUL in most games, like you were playing at low res.

FXAA from the likes of SweetFX is what I'm talking about, where it doesn't introduce noticeable blurring.

Hated those AA modes.

Don't hate on the wide tent homie hombres.

A little blurring coupled with smooth edges looks like sex wee on some games.

Left 4 Dead 2+1 being one of them because of the cartoony graphics.

On this do you create a BF3 CCC profile and then enable morphological AA. Do you also switch of In game AA for bf3?

thanks

You can either enable it just before you play bf3, or you can add it to amd's prepared bf3 profile. To do this add it, click apply, then click the save box and find the bf3.exe, then click apply and bobs your uncle.

Thanks mate, what about in game BF3 AA you switch that off? Not tried Amd AA going to give it a go :)

i used nvidia inspector for 'sparce grid' supersampling and it was amazing. but not really doable with the new 1440p res, even on a 690 :O

not sure if you can do it on amd hardware, but NV guys should check it out. its sweet because it works on shaders etc which normal AA doesnt (even regular super sampling looks way worse)

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but could it be something to do with Gaming Evolved or what else?:p Or is it just gonna be something we already know?

No problem mate.

I don't think it will be but part of me wants it to be more large performance increases coming, likely it will be something else though no doubt.

Maybe news about 8xxx series.

Wait what? is that in CCC?

Yes mate.

You know its working when using afterburner as it adds AA to the OSD, like a boss.

Not hating on AMD - but this may be an exercise to put out anything positive they can.

The company was downgraded again yesterday after already having a week or so of rough times since the earnings conference and its looking likely that monday will be a very black day for their share value - even the directors are running scared.

Probably gonna be a lot of denial in this part of the forum but the company is in a very very rocky position.
