AMD Releases Final R600 Spec

Looks like a beast, but jeez, are you gonna need some wattage to keep that thing happy! lol! I'll stick with my GTS i think! lol! (Maybe add another...) :D

Cool. Looks like it will have the edge on the GTX. Until it bursts into flames because you got a 1KW not 2KW PSU.

I always find something awesome about how ATi just brutishly push foward with tech and half ignore cooling and power requirements :)

i wouldnt wanna put money on it matey, gonna be same situ as the 8800's where they are reccomending 800-1000w for optimum running stability

you never know tho :)

March 30th is pretty late imo they might as well launched it on April 1st ;) Thats a good 6 months ? after the 8800GTX launch so yeah would expect it to me naturally 20-30% faster then the 8800GTX.

BUT you fully well know Nvidia are good with time-tables and there refresh of 8900GTX will proberly come mid-late March just to throw Salt into ATI/AMDs face really.

I got a feeling its gonna be similar speed/price wars all over again ?

Meh, 8800 is 3 times as big as 2900 :p

True ;) Makes no difference id bet cos 8900GTX will proberly ship in mid March or something crazy like that, then its the same thing all over again I dont think AMDS marketing trick will work :D

power, power and more power oh well whats worth it
the planet heating up or the fastest gpu in the world
easily the fastest gpu in thw world
the only way they could make it power freindly is put it on a 65nm or most probally 45nm fab
ill probally get the high-mid range card as soon as it comes out

Wow, you seem to be a chap that likes being selfish. Respect.

Has there actually been any benchmark results published yet, or is the "miles faster" comments still just speculation?

Jokester

I was referring to you saying you'd prefer to get something to satisfy yourself rather than that of others around you.

I do my bit for the world so u dont worry about that
back to this r600 power hungry card does anybody know when the 2 graphics card makers will start thinking about power becuase lower to a 65nm fab is all good but they just cant turn to that every time power goes out of hand

Entropy.

This is a findamental problem which will never go away. Best to get used to it. If you don't want a high power drain, the mid range cards are usually a little more efficient.
